Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and 6 Years of Updates Put the Galaxy A27 5G in a New Class

Samsung Galaxy A27 5G is moving closer to an official launch in Indonesia after clearing mandatory government certification. The SM-A276B model has appeared in the databases of Kemenperin and Postel Komdigi, signaling that the wait is now largely a matter of timing.

What makes the device noteworthy is not only its paperwork status. Samsung is also bringing a major refresh to the Galaxy A line, led by a new Snapdragon chipset, a more modern display design, and an unusually long software support promise for the mid-range segment.

Certification is complete, and the launch clock is ticking

According to official Kemenperin data as of July 2026, the Samsung SM-A276B has secured TKDN certification with an interconnection value of 40.30 percent. The same device is also listed in the Postel Komdigi database under certificate number 123112/DJID/2026, dated June 19.

The phone has already debuted in Germany and the United States in late June. That global rollout makes an Indonesia launch look increasingly close, with an official announcement from Samsung Electronics Indonesia still pending.

The chipset switch is the biggest change

Samsung Galaxy A27 5G marks a clear shift in the Galaxy A series by moving away from a mid-range Exynos platform. In its place, Samsung uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 built on a 4 nm process.

The change is aimed at better power efficiency and stronger graphics performance for everyday use. Techno.viva.co.id notes that this move is one of the key differentiators for the Galaxy A27 5G in this year’s mid-range market.

A wider screen and a cleaner front design

Up front, the device features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Samsung has also dropped the Infinity-U notch in favor of an Infinity-O punch-hole camera design.

For added protection, the screen is covered with Gorilla Glass Victus Plus. The result is a handset that feels more contemporary while remaining suited for everyday content consumption.

Camera, software, and endurance

The rear camera setup uses three lenses: a 50 MP main sensor with OIS, a 5 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro lens. On the front, the phone includes a 12 MP selfie camera.

The device runs Android 16 with One UI 8.5. Samsung also promises up to 6 generations of Android upgrades and 6 years of security updates, which is a notably long commitment for a mid-range phone.

For endurance, the Galaxy A27 5G carries a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging and an IP64 rating. These specifications position it as a device that is not only focused on performance, but also on durability and long-term software support.

Global pricing is known, but Indonesia pricing is not yet set

Samsung has not announced an official price for Indonesia. In the United States, however, the device starts at US$350.

With Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, a 120 Hz display, a 50 MP OIS main camera, and long update support, the Galaxy A27 5G arrives with a more serious package than a routine refresh. What remains is the formal confirmation of when it will reach Indonesian stores.
