iQOO appears to be taking a very different route with the iQOO 16. Instead of leaning on a cooling fan, the phone is now being linked to a huge 8,500 mAh battery, 100W wired charging, and wireless charging support.
The latest details come from Digital Chat Station, a leaker whose posts on Weibo often surface early hardware information. If accurate, the iQOO 16 would combine long endurance with several premium features that are not usually seen together in one device.
Flagship hardware beyond the battery
The same leak suggests that the unnamed phone is being tested with a 50MP main camera using the OmniVision OV50Q sensor. It is also said to use symmetrical 1115-series stereo speakers and an X-axis 0916-series vibration motor.
Many observers believe the device mentioned is the iQOO 16, which is reportedly being evaluated with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. That would place it in the top tier of the brand’s next flagship lineup if the information proves accurate.
| Device | Battery | Charging | Other Reported Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| iQOO 16 | 8,500 mAh | 100W wired, wireless charging | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, 50MP OmniVision OV50Q camera |
| Neo12 | 9,000 mAh | Not mentioned | 3nm chip, rumored Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 2K display |
| iQOO Z12 series | 10,000 mAh single-cell | Not mentioned | 3nm chip, model not confirmed |
Two other models are also said to be getting massive batteries
Digital Chat Station also pointed to two additional iQOO devices that may arrive with even larger batteries. One is believed to be the Neo12, which is said to carry a 9,000 mAh battery alongside a 3nm chip.
That same model had previously been rumored to use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and a 2K display. iQOO is also reportedly still evaluating active and passive cooling solutions for the device.
The third phone is tied to the iQOO Z12 series and is said to feature a 10,000 mAh single-cell battery. It is not yet confirmed whether it will launch as the Z12 or Z12 Turbo, but the battery figure alone shows how far the lineup may be leaning into endurance.
More premium features are being tested too
For the iQOO 16, the reported feature list goes beyond battery size and charging speed. It is also said to include a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, USB 3.2, an “AR film” feature, IP68/69 water and dust resistance, and a dedicated graphics chip that may be the Supercomputing Chip Q4.
www.gsmarena.com notes that more details about the iQOO 16, Neo12, and Z12 series are likely to surface closer to launch. For now, the leaks suggest that iQOO is preparing a lineup built around larger batteries without giving up flagship-level hardware.
