Three Free Months Come With Amazon Music Preloads on Select Galaxy Devices

Samsung is set to preload Amazon Music on selected Galaxy phones and tablets, pairing the move with three months of free Amazon Music Unlimited. The offer may appeal to Amazon’s audio customers, but preloading the app could also frustrate users who prefer to choose which services occupy their devices.

The promotion extends beyond the standard Amazon Music Unlimited trial, which normally lasts one month. Eligible users are also promised one free Audible audiobook each month during the offer.

A Longer Trial Has a Clear Value

Amazon Music Unlimited is priced at $13 per month after its normal one-month trial. Audible is listed separately at $9 per month after its own standard one-month trial.

The music service offers more than 100 million songs and millions of podcasts. Parts of its music catalog are available in Ultra HD and Spatial Audio, while the platform also includes artist livestreams and artist merchandise.

For Galaxy owners who already use Amazon’s services, the longer trial could be a meaningful benefit. For those committed to another streaming platform, the same arrangement may feel like an unwanted addition rather than an advantage.

Galaxy Store Is the Required Route

Amazon Music is now available through the Galaxy Store, giving existing Galaxy owners a route to the three-month offer without buying a new device. The download location is central to the promotion’s terms.

Users must download the app through the Galaxy Store rather than the Google Play Store to receive the stated three-month trial. Downloads from Google Play Store are not identified as eligible for the same offer.

GSMArena noted that Amazon Music had been available on Google Play Store for years before its arrival in Samsung’s app store. Its Galaxy Store availability therefore appears to be primarily a special promotional channel, not a new Android app launch.

Device and Regional Coverage Remain Unclear

The initial announcement came from Samsung US, while the accompanying release said the app would be preinstalled on millions of selected Samsung mobile devices and tablets globally. Samsung did not identify the Galaxy models or countries included in the program.

That leaves Galaxy users outside the United States unable to determine whether their devices will receive the preload. Samsung also did not say whether every eligible device would include the app from its first activation.

Izzet Asayas, Samsung’s Head of CTV & Mobile Business Development, described the collaboration as part of the company’s effort to provide distinct value to Galaxy users. Samsung presented the arrangement as a way to strengthen the premium experience within its ecosystem.

Amazon Music Director of Business Development Karolina Joynathsing said the device preload and Galaxy Store availability would put audio entertainment in customers’ hands from the start. Amazon also believes the free Amazon Music Unlimited trial can make a user’s first experience more appealing.

The partnership expands Amazon Music distribution through Samsung Galaxy devices, while its practical reach remains uncertain. Details on eligible models and markets will determine how many users receive both the preloaded app and the extended trial.
