Huawei’s latest chipset, the Kirin 9030, has finally leaked ahead of the Mate 80 series launch. This new processor marks a significant upgrade with a novel nine-core CPU design and a more powerful GPU, promising enhanced performance for Huawei’s flagship devices. The leak surfaced when the Mate 80 Pro Max appeared on Geekbench, revealing specifications that had been tightly guarded until now.
The Kirin 9030 departs from the previous Kirin 9020’s eight-core setup by introducing an additional CPU core, totaling nine cores in a 1+4+4 configuration. This means one core runs at 2.75GHz, while four performance cores run at 2.27GHz and four efficiency cores at 1.72GHz. Huawei has also upgraded the GPU component with the new Maleoon 935, replacing the previous Maleoon 920 chip found in earlier models.
