A small visual clue inside Android 17 QPR Beta 1 has put Pixel fans on alert. A tipster on X says the beta contains wallpapers that may belong to the unannounced Pixel 11 Pro Fold, giving an early hint about how Google may shape its next foldable’s visual identity.
The discovery is limited to software, but it still matters because Pixel devices often surface in this way before they are official. In this case, the wallpapers are the main evidence, and they point more toward design language than hardware specifications.
Two wallpapers attached to the leak
Tipster Dylan Roussel says two wallpapers are being tested for the device. He identified them as Pine: Tidal Swirl and Midnight: Lunar Tides, and also shared both images in his post.
Roussel described the left-side option as Pine: Tidal Swirl, while the monochrome version is labeled Midnight: Lunar Tides. Both wallpapers reportedly carry the same line of description, which reads, “Streaming waters swirl and flow through curving, rugged landscapes.”
That wording suggests a theme built around moving water and textured terrain. It also fits the kind of artistic wallpaper treatment Google has often used for Pixel devices, where the background itself helps define the product’s look and feel.
Why the leak is still uncertain
Despite the attention around the find, the wallpaper cannot be treated as final material. The images were found in Android 17 QPR Beta 1, which means they come from a test release that can still change significantly before any public launch.
Roussel also noted that the wallpapers may never appear on the finished product. Names can shift during development, visuals can be revised, and assets that show up in beta software are sometimes removed before release.
