OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra Packs 8,600mAh Power, 165Hz Display, and Flagship Gaming Muscle

OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra arrives in China with a clear mission: deliver flagship-level performance, long battery life, and a display built for fast-paced gaming. The most attention-grabbing part is the 8,600mAh battery, paired with a Dimensity 9500 chipset and an AMOLED panel that can reach 165Hz.

That combination places the phone squarely in the high-performance segment, where endurance and speed matter just as much as raw specs. OnePlus positions it as a new member of the Ace family, alongside the Ace 6 and Ace 6T, with gaming use cases at the center of the pitch.

Built for demanding performance

At the core of the Ace 6 Ultra is MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500, the same chipset used in the Vivo X300 Pro and Oppo Find X9 Pro. OnePlus pairs it with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

That hardware setup gives the phone room for heavy multitasking, large game installations, and broad media storage. To keep thermals under control, OnePlus includes a 6,000mm² Glacier Cooling System and says the 2K Supercritical Glacier Graphite can dissipate heat twice as fast.

Gaming support is another major focus. The Ace 6 Ultra is rated for 165 FPS in titles such as CoD Mobile, BGMI, Valorant Mobile, and Delta Force.

OnePlus also says this is the first phone to support its new OnePlus Strix Gaming Controller. The accessory reinforces the device’s gaming-first identity and adds another layer to the product’s positioning.

Fast display, but not always at maximum refresh

The front of the phone features a 6.78-inch LTPS AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. It uses a 10-bit panel and supports an adaptive refresh rate from 60Hz to 165Hz.

OnePlus notes that 144Hz and 165Hz are not available all the time. Those higher rates are limited to certain apps and scenarios, while most everyday use runs at 120Hz.

Visibility is backed by 800 nits of typical brightness and 1,800 nits HBM. Crystal Shield protection is also included, and stereo speakers round out the multimedia experience.

Large battery, manageable size

Battery life is one of the biggest selling points here, thanks to an 8,600mAh cell. OnePlus complements that with 120W fast charging, which helps balance the phone’s large capacity.

Even with that battery size, the body stays relatively slim at 8.45mm. The weight comes in at around 217 grams, which is a practical trade-off for a device built around endurance.

The phone also uses a metal frame and carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings. For security, OnePlus adds an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Cameras, software, and connectivity

Photography hardware is straightforward. The rear setup includes a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 112-degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture.

On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera supports video recording up to 4K at 60fps, while the front camera records up to 1080p at 30fps.

The phone ships with ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. Connectivity options include Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, GLONASS, and NFC.

Controller, pricing, and variants

The Strix Gaming Controller connects to the Ace 6 Ultra through USB-C and weighs 150 grams. It has four buttons, a 1.8ms response rate, an ergonomic grip design, and a dedicated e-sports antenna for stronger connectivity.

At launch, it works only with the Ace 6 Ultra, but OnePlus plans to expand compatibility in June to the OnePlus 15, OnePlus Ace 6, OnePlus Ace 6T, and OnePlus Turbo 6. In China, the controller is priced at 449 yuan.

The phone itself starts at 3,499 yuan for the 12GB + 256GB version. Other options include 16GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB, with color choices of Ace Awakening or Black, and Metal Storm or Gold.
