Geekbench Spotted A Realme 16T Prototype, And Its Chipset Looks Weaker Than The 15T’s

A Geekbench listing has put the spotlight on a device believed to be the Realme 16T, and the most notable detail is not the model name itself. Instead, the benchmark suggests that the phone may arrive with a chipset that sits below the one used in the Realme 15T.

The device appears in Geekbench under the model number RMX5268. It is still an unofficial sighting, but it has become one of the clearest early signs that Realme is testing the next member of its T series.

Early benchmark results

Geekbench records a single-core score of 784 and a multi-core score of 2,007 for the unit tested. The listing also shows Android 16 and 8GB of RAM, which indicates that the device is already in a performance testing phase.

These numbers should be read cautiously because benchmark entries usually reflect one test unit rather than every version that will reach the market. Even so, they provide one of the few concrete clues currently available for the phone.

What the chipset clue suggests

The most important detail in the listing is the processor identification. Geekbench points to an octa-core MediaTek chip with the code MT6835, paired with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

That hardware combination lines up with the Dimensity 6300. If that identification is correct, the Realme 16T would be using a different platform from the Realme 15T, which came with the Dimensity 6400 Max.

On paper, that means the successor does not automatically represent a step up in chip performance. Based on the current leak, the direction looks lower rather than higher.

Other details still remain unknown

The Geekbench entry does not reveal anything about the display, battery size, camera setup, or charging speed. Because of that, the current benchmark alone is not enough to judge the full generational upgrade.

Still, the appearance of the device in a public benchmark suggests Realme is already working on software and performance validation. In product leak cycles, that often means a launch may be drawing closer.

Memory and color options already rumored

Separate rumors have already outlined possible memory configurations for the phone. The reported options include 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB.

The 8GB RAM variant shown in Geekbench fits one of those rumored setups. The existence of a 6GB option would also allow Realme to target a broader range of buyers.

Color choices have also surfaced ahead of any official announcement. The device is said to come in Starlight Red, Starlight Black, and Aurora Green.

A successor to the Realme 15T

The timing of the leak makes sense in the context of the previous model. Realme 15T was launched in September, so attention has naturally shifted to what the next T-series phone may bring.

For now, Realme has not confirmed that RMX5268 is indeed the commercial name Realme 16T. The strongest clues so far are Android 16, 8GB of RAM, and the MediaTek MT6835 chip that points toward Dimensity 6300.
