A new itel smartphone has started to leave enough traces to suggest that its launch is approaching. The device, identified as itel Power 80 with model number P685L, has now appeared in both Geekbench and Indonesia’s TKDN certification list.
Those two appearances point to a product that is moving through the final stages before an official debut. For the entry-level segment, the most notable change appears to be a fresh shift in processing hardware compared with the previous Power 70.
Performance details from Geekbench
In the Geekbench database, the prototype listed as P685L recorded a single-core score of 445 and a multi-core score of 1451. While benchmark results from pre-release units do not define the final retail experience, they do offer an early picture of the phone’s direction.
The listing also reveals several core specifications. itel Power 80 is shown with Spreadtrum UMS9230E, 4GB of RAM, and Android 16.
Spreadtrum UMS9230E is better known as Unisoc T7250. The chipset uses a CPU layout with 2 cores running at 1.82GHz and 6 cores running at 1.61GHz.
A clearer step up from Power 70
The main reason Power 80 stands out is the change in platform compared with itel Power 70. The earlier model used MediaTek Helio G50 Ultimate, which came with 4x Cortex-A53 at 1.7GHz and 4x Cortex-A53 at 2.2GHz.
Power 80 shifts to 2x Cortex-A75 at 1.82GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 at 1.61GHz. That move suggests a more capable CPU setup, especially for everyday multitasking and better power efficiency.
For entry-level users, those changes matter. This segment usually prioritizes smooth basic app use, longer battery-friendly operation, and the ability to keep several lightweight apps running at once.
TKDN confirms the market direction
The same model number, P685L, has also appeared in Indonesia’s TKDN certification. The document confirms the marketing name as itel Power 80.
That certification adds another strong signal that the phone is being prepared for the Indonesian market. Devices that reach this stage are typically not far from an official announcement.
What this means for itel’s lineup
itel Power 70 was released in March last year, so Power 80 is shaping up as the next step in the brand’s affordable series. With Geekbench and TKDN now showing the device, the path toward launch looks increasingly clear.
The combination of a newer chipset, Android 16, and formal certification suggests that itel is preparing a fresh option for buyers who want a simple phone with updated performance. If the revealed specs hold through launch, Power 80 could become a relevant choice in the low-cost smartphone category in Indonesia.
