Nubia Opens Neo 5 Series Pre-Orders In Indonesia, Golden Mystery Box Awaits Early Buyers

Nubia is positioning the Neo 5 Series launch in Indonesia as more than a routine gaming phone debut. The company is pairing the release with a pre-order campaign that includes a Mystery Box and the chance to win physical gold, a move designed to pull attention from both gamers and early buyers.

The pre-order window runs from 16 to 24 May 2026. During that period, each purchase comes with one surprise box, making the launch feel closer to an event than a standard product sale.

Mystery Box incentives for early buyers

Nubia says the main draw of the campaign is 99 units of physical gold, each weighing 2 grams, reserved as prizes for lucky pre-order customers. The box also includes gaming accessories such as a controller dock, a cooling fan, and exclusive merchandise.

There is also mention of another possible prize in the form of a DJI drone. That item has not yet been fully confirmed by the organizer, so it remains outside the list of guaranteed rewards.

Two models, two different approaches

The Neo 5 Series arrives in two variants: the Neo 5 5G and the Neo 5 GT. Both are presented with a gaming-first identity, with Nubia leaning on the idea of a compact “Redmagic mini” experience centered on performance and competitive control.

The standard Neo 5 5G uses a 6.8-inch IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Unisoc T9300 chipset, paired with a 6050 mAh battery, 45W charging, and a 20,000 mm square cooling system.

The higher-end Neo 5 GT

The Neo 5 GT sits above the base model and is built for users who want a more aggressive gaming package. It features a 1.5K AMOLED display with brightness reaching 4500 nits, uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7400, and carries an internal cooling fan that Nubia describes as the first in its class.

Battery life and charging are also stronger on the GT variant. Nubia equips it with a 6210 mAh battery and 80W fast charging, making it more suitable for longer play sessions and shorter top-up times.

Controls tuned for esports-style play

Both models share Neo Triggers 5.0 with a 550Hz touch sampling rate. That feature is aimed at delivering more precise control for players who need fast response in competitive games.

With the pre-order gift program, an open launch event, and two models that target different gaming needs, Nubia is trying to make the Neo 5 Series stand out before sales begin in earnest. The strategy suggests the company wants to compete not only on specifications, but also on the experience surrounding the product launch.
