HMD Vibe 2 5G Leak Reveals Rs. 8,999 Entry Price, Large Battery and 50MP Camera

A new budget 5G phone from HMD is drawing attention before launch, not because of one headline feature, but because of the combination of price, battery size, and practical extras. The leaked starting price of Rs. 8,999 places the HMD Vibe 2 5G in one of the most crowded segments in India.

That pricing, if accurate, is only part of the appeal. The phone is also said to arrive with multiple memory options, a 50-megapixel main camera, a 6,000mAh battery, and a design that still keeps features many users value, including a 3.5mm audio jack.

Leaked pricing and variants

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav on X, the HMD Vibe 2 5G will be offered in three memory configurations. The base model is expected to come with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage at Rs. 8,999.

A second variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is said to cost Rs. 9,999. The top-end version, which pairs 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, is reportedly priced at Rs. 10,999.

The gap between the three options is small enough to make the higher storage variants look more tempting. It also suggests HMD is aiming to keep the upgrade path affordable for buyers who want more room without moving too far from the entry price.

Launch schedule and availability

HMD has already confirmed that the Vibe 2 5G will launch in India on May 21 at 12 pm IST. The phone will also go on sale through Flipkart, giving the device a clearly defined debut path.

That timeline adds weight to the leaks now circulating around the phone. With the launch so close, the remaining questions are mainly about how closely the official announcement will match the reported pricing and hardware.

Colors and design choices

The company has also confirmed three color options for the device. Buyers will reportedly be able to choose from Cosmic Lavender, Nordic Blue, and Peach Pink.

Those finishes show that HMD is keeping the product line straightforward, with color variety serving as one of the few visible style choices. The approach fits a phone that appears to focus more on value and utility than on flashy design changes.

Core hardware and camera setup

On the performance side, the HMD Vibe 2 5G is said to use the Unisoc T8200 chipset. The leaked configuration goes up to 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, which positions it as a practical entry-level 5G device rather than a feature-heavy midranger.

Camera details are also beginning to take shape. The front camera is reported to use an 8-megapixel sensor, while the rear setup has been confirmed as a dual-camera system with a 50-megapixel AI main sensor.

HMD has not explained the second rear sensor in detail. Even so, the 50-megapixel main camera remains one of the more visible selling points in the phone’s leaked spec sheet.

Battery and everyday features

One of the strongest reported features is the 6,000mAh battery. HMD says the phone will support 18W wired charging through a USB Type-C port.

That battery capacity could be a major draw in this price bracket. Combined with 5G support, it gives the device a clear practical edge for users who prioritize long battery life.

The phone is also said to carry an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. In addition, the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack keeps a familiar and useful option in place for many buyers.

Taken together, the leaked details paint the HMD Vibe 2 5G as a budget 5G phone built around everyday usefulness. More will be confirmed when HMD unveils the device in India on May 21.
