The Seattle Storm head into Monday night’s road game against the Dallas Wings with several injury questions that could shape the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup matchup. Seattle has already ruled out Dominique Malonga and Ezi Magbegor, leaving the team with notable absences as it tries to stop a two-game losing streak.
The game also carries added urgency because both teams are coming off strong individual performances and need a win for momentum. Seattle is 3-6 after a loss to the Toronto Tempo, while Dallas is 5-3 after beating the Las Vegas Aces at home.
Storm injury report: Dominique Malonga and Ezi Magbegor status
Malonga will not play against Dallas because of a concussion. The Storm said she remains in the WNBA’s concussion protocol, and Monday will mark her seventh straight missed game.
Magbegor is also out for Seattle as she continues to recover from a foot injury. Her absence leaves the Storm without another key frontcourt piece while the team works through the early part of the season.
Seattle’s injury report includes two more unavailable players as well. Taylor Thierry and Taina Mair have both been ruled out because of coach’s decisions.
Will Dominique Malonga play?
No. Malonga has been ruled out again, so she will not be available Monday night. The concussion issue has kept her sidelined for an extended stretch, and there is no indication in the report that she will return for this matchup.
That means the Storm will need to adjust again in the middle of the court. Their depth has already been tested, and the team will have to rely on other contributors to handle minutes and production.
Will Ezi Magbegor play?
No. Magbegor is also out and will not suit up against the Wings. She remains sidelined while recovering from the foot injury that has kept her out to begin the season.
Her continued absence is important because Seattle is already missing size and defensive presence inside. That makes the matchup more difficult, especially on the road against a Dallas team that has shown balance in recent games.
Wings injury report: Awak Kuier and Alysha Clark
Dallas has two players on its injury report, with Awak Kuier ruled out because of a right wrist injury. It will be her first missed game of the season, which removes another option from the Wings’ rotation.
Alysha Clark is listed as probable, and the expectation is that she will play despite a left elbow injury. She missed Sunday’s practice, but the report still points toward her availability for Monday night.
Recent form adds to the stakes
Seattle’s last game featured strong work from Natisha Hiedeman, who scored 18 points and handed out seven assists. Jordan Horston also contributed 15 points, four rebounds and four steals, but the Storm still came up short.
Dallas leaned on Jessica Shepard in its most recent win, and she delivered one of the biggest stat lines in the matchup with 22 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists. Paige Bueckers also provided 20 points and six assists, giving the Wings another productive scoring option.
The Storm and Wings will meet Monday night in Dallas at 8:00 p.m. ET on USA Network, with both sides trying to manage injuries while keeping pace in the Commissioner’s Cup.
