The blind box trend has moved into the grocery aisle, and Aldi is using it to drive a limited-time giveaway. The chain has unveiled the Aldi Blind Box, a free online drop filled with fan-favorite products and fresh picks from across its stores.

Shoppers will get four chances to claim one, with a new box released each day from June 22 to 25. Aldi said the giveaway will open at noon ET on AldiBlindBox.com and will be available while supplies last on a first-come, first-served basis.

What shoppers can expect

Each drop has a theme, and Aldi says more than 100 boxes will be given away per release. The four options include a Snack Blind Box, Fiber Blind Box, Protein Blind Box, and Mystery Blind Box.

Blind Box Theme What It Includes
Snack Blind Box Premium cheeses, dips, crunchy bites and sweets
Fiber Blind Box Produce favorites and better-for-you picks
Protein Blind Box Satisfying staples and surprising finds
Mystery Blind Box A surprise assortment of ALDI fan favorites and staples

Aldi said shoppers can check the company’s Instagram page to see which theme is coming next. The boxes are meant to tap into the excitement of surprise unboxings, which the company says many customers already enjoy.

“The ALDI Blind Box taps into the excitement our fans already feel walking our aisles,” said Bridget Kozlowski, director of communications for Aldi, in a news release. “Our shoppers come to ALDI for value, but they also come for discovery. From viral ALDI Finds to tried-and-true products shoppers love to tell their friends about, people love the thrill of discovering something new here.”

“With surprise unboxings more popular than ever, this is our way of helping customers discover even more favorites,” Kozlowski added.

Why Aldi is leaning into surprise

The giveaway comes as Aldi continues to lean into discovery as part of its broader brand appeal. The company says shoppers are drawn to both value and the chance to find something unexpected in its aisles.

USA TODAY also reported that Aldi is redesigning some U.S. stores, with some locations starting to show new signage, pricing language and updated visuals. The chain says the changes are part of a broader effort by Aldi South to create a more consistent look worldwide.

According to the company, its current stores are built around smaller, more sustainable spaces, with product packaging designed to double as displays. Forbes reported that the new store model is intended to be more flexible, which could help Aldi test smaller, corner-store-style locations in tighter urban areas or smaller markets.
