Jennifer Beals is moving into CBS’ next NCIS chapter, joining LL Cool J and Scott Caan in NCIS: New York. Deadline reports that Beals, known for The L Word, will play the female lead and the boss of the new team.
The series brings LL Cool J back to the franchise as NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna, who returns to his hometown of New York City and joins the field office there. He teams with a roguish agent, Nick Schaeffer, played by Scott Caan, as the pair leads a new unit on high-stakes missions tied to one of the world’s most important cities and ports.

Byers, Harper and Druid have also been cast as series regulars and will play members of Sam and Nick’s team. The show is set to launch this fall as part of CBS’ NCIS-branded Tuesday lineup and will stream the next day on Paramount+.

Beals’ recent credits include Luckiest Girl Alive, Devil in a Blue Dress, and The Book of Boba Fett, and she is recurring in the upcoming third season of Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Byers is known for Salvation and has also recurred on Dark Winds and Roadies.
Harper recently appeared as a series regular on Power Book IV: Force, while Druid is best known for playing Tyler Down on 13 Reasons Why. The new spinoff adds another major expansion to the long-running CBS franchise, with a cast built around a fresh field office and familiar franchise muscle.
