Disney is preparing to sell select domestic tickets for Avengers: Doomsday five months before the film reaches theaters. The early sales will apply to the studio’s Infinity Vision premium-format screens and are scheduled to begin July 20.
The rollout gives Marvel fans an unusually early chance to secure seats for one of the franchise’s biggest upcoming releases. It also arrives with a reported runtime of 165 minutes, or two hours and 45 minutes.
A Longer Avengers Event
At 165 minutes, Doomsday would run longer than 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, which lasted 149 minutes. It would remain shorter than 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, which ran for 181 minutes.

The final cut is unlikely to be fully locked this far ahead of release. However, selling tickets on a fixed schedule suggests any runtime changes would likely be limited.
Infinity Vision Takes Center Stage
Disney created the Infinity Vision designation for select large-format screens showing Doomsday. The move follows Warner Bros. securing Imax theaters for Dune Part III for three weeks after both films open on Dec. 18, according to www.hollywoodreporter.com.
Infinity Vision tickets will also be available for Avengers: Endgame Encore, a re-release set for Sept. 25. Endgame remains the second-highest-grossing film of all time with $2.8 billion globally, behind 2009’s Avatar.
The early-ticket strategy follows Universal’s effort to build anticipation by putting select Imax tickets for The Odyssey on sale a full year in advance. Disney has not commented on the reported plan, while Marvel declined to comment.
Trailer Timing and Returning Heroes
The ticket sale is expected to launch days before Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con presentation on July 25. The studio is expected to unveil the first full trailer when the Marvel Cinematic Universe returns to Hall H, with an online release also appearing likely.
Doomsday reunites Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as they attempt to save the multiverse from Doctor Doom. Robert Downey Jr., who previously played Iron Man, will portray the new villain.
The ensemble includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, and Anthony Mackie as Captain America. Tom Hiddleston, Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Vanessa Kirby, Simu Liu, Letitia Wright, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and Rebecca Romijn are also part of the cast.
Anthony and Joe Russo are directing the film. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to open in theaters on Dec. 18.
