Mi Home Water Purifier 2 1600G Hides Inside The Cabinet, Delivers RO Water With A 6,500-Liter Filter

Xiaomi has expanded its smart water purifier lineup with the Mi Home Water Purifier 2 1600G, a model designed for households that want a permanent filtration system built into the kitchen. Instead of sitting on a countertop with a refillable tank, the unit is meant to stay hidden inside a cabinet so the work area remains clean and uncluttered.

The setup separates the faucet from the main purification unit, which helps the product blend into a more integrated kitchen layout. Xiaomi’s approach is aimed at users who want filtered water on demand without giving up counter space or relying on a portable appliance.

Touch control and TDS display

The faucet is not a standard tap. It includes a touch button and a small screen, allowing users to dispense a specific amount of water with a single tap rather than using a traditional lever.

That display also shows total dissolved solids, or TDS, which serves as a simple indicator of filter performance. A sharp rise in the reading usually signals that the filter may need replacement.

RO filtration for daily use

At the core of the system is reverse osmosis, or RO, which Xiaomi uses as the main filtration method. The process is intended to reduce a wide range of substances in water, including potentially harmful contaminants such as heavy metals and organic pollutants.

The RO membrane also helps reduce pathogens effectively through very fine filtration under pressure. At the same time, the broader context still matters, since tap water in many developed countries is generally safe to drink even though organic substances can remain a concern.

Fast output and long filter life

One of the strongest selling points is the filtration speed. Xiaomi says the Mi Home Water Purifier 2 1600G can deliver up to 4 liters per minute, making it suitable for homes that need a steady supply of clean water without long waits.

The filter is rated to last up to 6,500 liters before replacement is needed. That capacity is a key part of the appeal because it gives a clearer sense of how long the unit can serve in normal household use.

Designed to leave less standing water

Xiaomi also says the system leaves very little water behind after use. That detail matters because lower residual water volume can help reduce microbial growth inside the system.

In other words, the product is not only focused on water clarity. Its design also reflects attention to biological safety over long-term use.

Availability and pricing

The Mi Home Water Purifier 2 1600G is currently available in China at a price of around $294 or €253 after currency conversion. Xiaomi has not announced international pricing or availability yet.

The company has already shown similar products on its global website, but there is still no confirmation on when this model will reach other markets. With its built-in design, touch control faucet, TDS display, and 6,500-liter filter rating, it stands out as one of Xiaomi’s more notable additions in the smart purifier category.
