Take-Two Confirms GTA 6 Still Targets November 2026, Easing Delay Fears

Take-Two Interactive has pushed back against the latest wave of GTA 6 delay rumors, and the message is simple: the game is still set for 19 November 2026. That confirmation matters because the title has spent years at the center of huge expectations, with fans watching every signal for signs of another slip.

The update also helped cool speculation that the next Grand Theft Auto would be moved again into 2027. For now, the publisher’s position points in the opposite direction, with the release schedule still intact and confidence around the launch remaining high.

Take-Two keeps the date unchanged

The clearest sign came from Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick during the company’s Q4 Earnings Conference Call on Thursday, 21 May 2026. In the WebCast presentation at take2games.com, he reiterated that Grand Theft Auto VI remains on the calendar for 19 November 2026.

Zelnick also said the company expects fiscal year 2027 to deliver a new record for operating performance. That outlook is tied partly to the planned launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, along with solid results from the rest of Take-Two’s portfolio.

Why the reaction was so intense

The fear around a possible delay did not appear out of nowhere. GTA 6 has been absent from the market for more than a decade, while Rockstar Games has already framed the project as an ambitious open-world release with standards-setting potential.

That long gap only makes every new update feel more important. With so much anticipation built up over the years, even small rumors about a delay have been enough to trigger concern among players.

Why fans keep paying attention

Rockstar has already shown a few elements that explain the level of excitement. One of the biggest talking points is the scale of the open world, which is expected to be roughly twice the size of GTA V’s map from 2013.

The game is also said to feature more dynamic NPC behavior. In the trailer, NPCs were shown driving more intelligently and carrying out their own distinct activities.

Another major feature drawing attention is the improved wanted system. Together, those details have helped position GTA 6 as a potential new benchmark for open-world games.

What is still missing

Even with the release date now affirmed, Rockstar has not yet released a new trailer or opened official pre-orders. That gap has been one of the reasons speculation continued to circulate around another delay.

The latest confirmation should ease some of that pressure, at least for now. Many fans are likely to focus next on when Rockstar decides to start the next phase of promotion.

Pricing remains unconfirmed

Another subject that continues to draw interest is the game’s price, but there is still no official announcement. The figures circulating so far remain rumors, not confirmed pricing.

The most commonly mentioned starting price is 66.99 US dollars, while premium or deluxe bundles are expected by rumor to reach 100 US dollars. GTA bundles are usually discussed as including expansion packs, GTA Online, vehicles, costumes, and exclusive weapons.

If Rockstar delivers the features it has already teased, some fans may view that pricing as reasonable. For now, though, the only firm detail is that GTA 6 remains scheduled for 19 November 2026.
