Motorola is lining up a new premium mid-range phone that puts camera hardware and battery life at the center of the pitch. The Edge 70 Pro+ is scheduled to launch in India on 4 June 2026, and it is being positioned as a higher-end addition to the Edge 70 family.
The device is meant for buyers who want a flagship-like experience without moving into the most expensive tier. That positioning becomes clearer through its combination of a periscope camera, a 6,500mAh battery, and a premium design.
Camera setup takes the lead
Motorola has confirmed a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 main camera with Optical Image Stabilisation. The company is aiming for sharper results in both bright and low-light conditions.
On the back, the Edge 70 Pro+ also includes a 50MP periscope telephoto lens and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. Motorola says the phone will also support up to 50x AI Super Zoom, along with image processing powered by moto AI.
The periscope lens is built around a native focal range from 12mm to 85mm. That range should give the phone more flexibility for landscapes, portraits, and distant subjects.
Premium look with Pantone collaboration
Motorola is also giving the phone a strong visual identity through three premium finishes developed with Pantone. Each option uses a different texture and color treatment to give the device a distinct appearance.
The lineup includes a Satin-Luxe Finish in a matte maroon shade inspired by Zinfandel, a Twill-Inspired Finish in Blue Surf with a fabric-like texture, and a Sculpted Wood Finish called Wood Gold with a natural grain look. On the front, the phone keeps a quad-curved display and slim bezels, which should help the design feel more polished in hand.
Expected specs point to an upper mid-range focus
Full performance details have not been officially revealed yet, but early information suggests a strong specification sheet for the category. The reported display is a 6.8-inch quad-curved pOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.
If that holds, the phone will target users who want smooth visuals for gaming and entertainment. The chipset is said to be the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme, paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for fast performance.
The device is also expected to carry IP68/IP69 certification for water and dust resistance. Another rumored feature is an AI Key, which would work in a similar way to an action button and offer quick access to shortcuts and smart functions.
Battery capacity is another major draw
One of the strongest selling points is the battery. The Edge 70 Pro+ is expected to pack a 6,500mAh battery, which is large for this segment.
Charging support is also said to be generous, with 90W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging. That combination should suit users who spend long hours on gaming, streaming, and camera use.
Launch plans and pricing window
Motorola has not announced the official price yet, but early leaks place the India price between ₹45,000 and ₹50,000. That would put the Edge 70 Pro+ in the highly competitive upper mid-range bracket.
At that level, Motorola would be facing strong competition from premium devices from OnePlus, iQOO, and Samsung. Sales are also expected to begin through Flipkart, Motorola’s official website, and offline retail stores.
With its confirmed launch date, camera-heavy hardware, premium finishes, and large battery, the Edge 70 Pro+ is shaping up to be one of Motorola’s most closely watched releases. Final details such as pricing and variant configurations are still expected to be cleared up at launch.
