Claude AI Takes Over Tenable’s Threat Prioritization, Faster Response for Cyber Teams

Artificial intelligence is moving deeper into security operations, and Tenable is now bringing Claude AI into that effort through its Tenable Hexa AI workflow on the Tenable One platform. The collaboration is designed to help security teams interpret risk faster, reduce manual work, and respond more quickly as threats become more aggressive.

The timing matters because attackers are also using advanced AI models to speed up their own operations. Tenable is therefore positioning Claude not as a standalone tool, but as an analysis engine inside a more tactical security automation system.

AI aimed at turning exposure data into action

The new approach relies on intelligent agents that can convert large and complex threat data into coordinated remediation steps. Tenable says this is meant to move security information beyond simple monitoring and into direct response.

That system is powered by Tenable Exposure Data Fabric, which brings together internal data, third-party inputs, and research from Tenable Research. By combining those sources, the platform is intended to give security teams a more complete view of exposure across their digital environment.

Mark Thurmond, co-CEO of Tenable, said the number of security gaps continues to rise. He also noted that the gap between vulnerability discovery and hacker exploitation is shrinking, which is one of the reasons Tenable is deepening its work with Anthropic.

What Claude will do in day-to-day operations

In daily security operations, Claude will be used for threat prioritization and network exposure analysis. Tenable also wants IT practitioners to spend less time matching data manually because the digital attack surface will be monitored from a centralized system.

Tenable Hexa AI sits at the center of that workflow by linking analysis, prioritization, and response. The company is framing this as a way to accelerate decisions at the moment threats appear, rather than after manual review slows the process down.

The update also reflects a wider shift in cybersecurity. As more attacks are carried out with automation, defense teams are being pushed to move at a similar pace.

Anthropic sees AI as part of routine security work

Anthropic says bringing AI into everyday security operations is becoming increasingly important as the threat landscape changes. Jason Clinton, Deputy CISO at Anthropic, said organizations need to embed artificial intelligence into their daily processes.

Anthropic also said it is excited to share Claude’s deep analysis capabilities with users. The focus is on helping them better understand digital risk and respond to threats in a more tactical way.

For both companies, the partnership underscores a broader direction in digital defense. Combining AI analysis with exposure data is being positioned as a foundation for stronger network security in an environment where attacks are moving faster.

Tenable is also scheduled to feature Anthropic at EXPOSURE 2026 in Boston this week. The event will discuss how AI is changing digital defense and show where the collaboration between the two companies may go next.
