A foldable phone that combines an exceptionally thin body with a large battery is now moving onto the global stage. HONOR is launching the Magic V6 internationally with a design that aims to challenge one of the most persistent complaints about foldables: that they are still too bulky for everyday use.
The device stands out immediately because of the contrast between its form and its battery capacity. When folded, the Magic V6 measures 8.75 mm, and it shrinks to 4.0 mm when opened, yet HONOR still fits a 6,660mAh battery inside.
Thin, but built for daily use
HONOR positions the Magic V6 as the thinnest foldable phone currently available. The white version weighs around 219 grams, which places it closer to a conventional smartphone than many earlier foldable models.
That approach is paired with durability-focused hardware. The phone uses a new Super Steel Hinge with 2,800MPa tensile strength, and HONOR adds bionic cushioning with AI assistance to help absorb impact and spread force during use.
The inner display also uses ultra-thin flexible glass to reduce the look of the crease. On the outside, HONOR protects the screen with its NanoCrystal Shield, which features up to 5,600 layers of protection.
A battery size that defies the foldable norm
The most eye-catching specification is still the power cell. HONOR says the 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery is the largest ever placed in a foldable smartphone.
According to the company, higher silicon content and improved energy density make it possible to deliver longer battery life without thickening the body. That directly targets the trade-off that has long defined foldable phones, where internal space is limited.
Charging support is equally aggressive. The Magic V6 supports 80W wired fast charging, 66W wireless charging, and wireless reverse charging for topping up other devices.
Large displays and flagship performance
The Magic V6 uses a 6.52-inch cover display and a 7.95-inch inner foldable panel. Both screens support an adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz.
Brightness is also a priority, with the outer display reaching up to 6,000 nits and the inner display reaching 5,000 nits. HONOR also includes eye-comfort features and 4,320Hz PWM dimming for longer viewing sessions.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. HONOR pairs it with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, while its Vulkan-based graphics system is designed to support smooth 120fps gaming on the inner screen.
Cameras, AI tools, and ecosystem support
Photography hardware includes a 50MP main camera, a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with a large sensor and CIPA-rated stabilization, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. For content creation, HONOR also adds AI Color Engine, Magic Color 2.0, and AI Image to Video 2.0.
MagicOS 10 brings built-in AI agents for system settings, photo organization, contextual suggestions, and productivity workflows. HONOR also includes Fast Flex and PC-level Multi-Flex to make multitasking on the large foldable screen more practical.
Compatibility is another major focus. The Magic V6 is designed to work with iPhone, Mac, AirPods, and Apple Watch through HONOR Share, while Quick Share is also supported for file transfers between Android devices and compatible Apple devices.
Google Gemini is integrated into the experience as well, with access through text, voice, images, or screen sharing. Buyers also receive three months of Google AI Pro, which includes advanced Gemini features, Veo video creation, Flow AI filmmaking tools, NotebookLM, and 5TB of cloud storage.
HONOR has started the global rollout from Singapore and Malaysia before expanding to Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and other international markets. In Malaysia, the phone is sold in white, black, red, and gold, with prices starting from RM7699.
