Geely EX2 now looks more convincing for drivers who want a compact electric SUV that can go beyond short city hops. Its updated battery pushes the driving range to 460 km, reducing the sense that small EVs are only suitable for limited urban use.
The change matters because range anxiety remains one of the biggest concerns in the compact EV segment. Geely is positioning the EX2 as a city-friendly model that can also handle longer daily trips without forcing drivers to stop and charge too often.
Battery upgrade at the center of the update
Geely has fitted the refreshed EX2 with a new-generation Lithium Iron Phosphate, or LFP, battery pack. The battery uses a denser energy layout without a significant increase in the vehicle’s physical weight.
With the latest standard certification, the Geely EX2 can now travel up to 460 km. That gives owners more flexibility for intercity commuting and longer routines that no longer feel tightly tied to charging access.
Geely also improved the thermal management system with a more optimized Liquid Cooling System. The setup helps keep battery temperature in the ideal range during extreme heat and while using fast charging.
Fast charging keeps daily use practical
Longer range is only useful if charging remains manageable, and the EX2 still addresses that point well. Its battery supports DC Fast Charging, allowing the charge from 30 percent to 80 percent to finish in about 28 minutes.
That combination of longer range and shorter charging time strengthens the EX2’s appeal for everyday mobility. It also helps Geely reduce one of the most common concerns among buyers considering compact electric cars.
Exterior changes also serve efficiency
The update is not limited to the battery system. Geely also gave the EX2 a cleaner front-end design with a Closed Grid layout that helps reduce aerodynamic drag.
The LED headlamps now carry a revised internal structure with a sharper three-dimensional effect. The lower bumper was also redesigned with an active air dam to support dynamic cooling for battery-related components.
On the sides, Geely uses 16-inch alloy wheels with a low-resistance design. The detail supports energy efficiency while keeping the car suitable for dense city traffic.
Digital cabin and standard safety equipment
Inside, the updated EX2 gets a 10.1-inch central touchscreen running the latest Geely Galaxy OS. The system is said to be more responsive, support natural AI voice commands, and offer advanced wireless interconnection with various smartphone brands.
The cabin follows a Space Maximizer concept to make the most of the compact SUV layout. Seats use premium eco-fabric material with good airflow, which adds comfort during longer journeys.
Safety equipment is also comprehensive across the range. Geely includes the latest Electronic Stability Program, Hill Start Assist, a rear parking camera with a dynamic viewing angle, and real-time TPMS as standard on every EX2 variant.
With these updates, the Geely EX2 moves further toward the kind of compact EV that feels easier to live with outside the city core. It now combines longer range, quicker charging, and a more complete feature set in a package that still fits tight urban streets.
