Saved passwords in Google make it easier to sign in to websites and apps without retyping credentials every time. But passwords that are no longer needed should be removed to reduce the risk to account security and privacy.
Google provides several ways to delete saved passwords, whether through an Android phone or a computer. The process is relatively short because users only need to open Google Password Manager and select the account they want to remove.
On Android Through Google Password Manager
This method is suitable for users who want to clean up saved passwords directly from phone settings. The path starts in Settings, then Google, and then Password Manager.
After that, search for the account or site whose password should be deleted. Tap Delete, then confirm the removal so the data is fully removed from the saved list.
On Android Through Google Chrome
Users can also delete saved passwords directly from the Chrome app. Start by opening Chrome, then tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner and choose Settings.
Next, select Google Password Manager and find the account that needs to be removed. After the account is selected, tap Delete to erase the password from Chrome storage.
On a Computer Through Google Chrome
On desktop, deletion can be done through Chrome with a similar set of steps. Open Google Chrome, then click the profile icon in the top right corner to enter the password management menu.
Select Passwords or Password Manager, then search for the site or account that should be removed. Once the account is opened, click Delete to remove the saved password from the browser.
Google passwords themselves serve as the main security layer for accessing a Google account and its services. Because of that role, saved passwords should be managed carefully so accounts stay secure and login data does not pile up on devices that are no longer in use.
