What makes the gameplay different
Rather than fighting directly, players monitor movement from above, issue orders, and prepare attacks from the air. The experience centers on guiding four teams with a total of six soldiers across the battlefield.
The story begins in a country under attack, where the VEIL organization recruits the player to test a new drone communication system. Much of the action takes place inside the fictional VEIL OS, which serves as the hub for communicating with clients and controlling drones.

Early impressions have been positive, with roughly 90% of the game’s reviews coming in favorable. Even so, the game has fewer than 100 reviews on Steam, so it remains a relatively quiet release.

Early Access content and Steam Deck support
Drone Perspective launched in Early Access in March 2025 and currently includes 10 story levels plus three secret levels with experimental gameplay. All of that content can be played solo or in co-op, giving it flexibility for different play styles.
The game also carries Steam Deck Verified status, which makes the current discount more appealing for handheld players. With Early Access originally planned to last only one year, the price may rise after that phase ends.
