Amazfit has pushed the Cheetah 2 Ultra beyond a simple trail-running watch update. The latest changes are aimed at athletes who want more structured training, clearer readiness signals, and better support for outdoor navigation.
The shift matters because the device is no longer being positioned only as a running companion. It is now being shaped into a more serious training tool for Hyrox competitors and trail runners who rely on pace control, recovery data, and route guidance.
Hyrox support gets a more practical toolkit
The biggest addition arrives through the Zepp app, where Amazfit has expanded Hyrox integration with an official Hyrox Workout Library. The templates can be synced directly to the watch, giving users a more structured way to prepare for competition.
Amazfit has also added two tools built for race-day use. Hyrox Virtual Pace helps athletes stay aligned with target timing in real time, while simulation modes now cover Full Course, Half Course, and other Hyrox-specific formats.
Access to the new functions is kept straightforward inside the system. Hyrox Virtual Pace sits under Workout > More > Hyrox Virtual Pace, while the workout library is available through Home > Hyrox Workouts Library.
Energy tracking now combines more of the body picture
On the fitness side, the company is changing how the watch reads user readiness. The new HybridCharge Energy Intelligence combines BioCharge, LifeLoad, and Training Load into one monitoring framework.
Rather than focusing on a single metric, the system looks at training, recovery, and daily stress across a wider activity range. That gives users a fuller picture of how prepared they may be before the next session.
Amazfit has also refined recovery guidance. Rest recommendations are now split for high-, medium-, and low-intensity sessions so the advice is more specific before the next workout.
Navigation and small interface details were not ignored
The update also brings improvements for outdoor use, where route planning and map clarity matter most. A route preview image now appears on the workout preparation screen before users head out.
Map scale accuracy has been improved with new options at 2 km, 750 m, 200 m, and 75 m. In addition, terrain map rendering has been optimized when map data has not yet been downloaded, which helps the display remain more usable in certain conditions.
There is also a small interface change on the watch itself. The status indicator now appears briefly on the watch face before moving to the Control Center.
The Cheetah 2 Ultra is currently listed at $599.99 on Amazon. With these additions, Amazfit is clearly trying to turn the watch from a trail-running tracker into a more focused training device for Hyrox preparation, recovery, and everyday navigation.
