Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI on PS5 open at midnight local time on 25 June, giving players an early chance to secure a digital copy and claim the available bonus content. The opening also brings pre-load access closer for those who want the game ready before launch day.
Rockstar Games has confirmed two official editions for the release. The Standard Edition is priced at $79.99, while Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition costs $99.99, placing the title among the first major blockbusters to adopt the new $80 benchmark.
How PS5 players can place a pre-order
On PS5, the process goes through the PlayStation Store. Players can search for “Grand Theft Auto VI” or “GTA 6,” then add the game to a Wishlist before pre-orders go live.
Once sales open on 25 June, the game page will allow buyers to choose between the Standard Edition and the Ultimate Edition. After selecting an edition, players can complete payment through the store and wait for the download window.
Rockstar says digital buyers will be able to start pre-loading on 12 November. That timing should let the game download ahead of its release on 19 November.
What each edition offers
The Standard Edition is the base option for players who only want access to the main game. It carries the entry price of $79.99 and does not add premium extras beyond the core experience.
The Ultimate Edition is designed for players who want more than the base game. Rockstar says it includes exclusive vehicles, weapons, clothing, tattoos, and gameplay content woven into the journey of Jason and Lucia.
Among the highlighted items are the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and the ’95 Grotti Cheetah. The edition also adds exclusive vehicle modification locations, personalized weapon variants, special outfits for Jason and Lucia, unique tattoo customization, and extra rewards that unlock as progress continues.
Rockstar has also confirmed that an Ultimate Edition Upgrade will be sold separately later, which means Standard Edition buyers will still have a path to upgrade in the future.
Pre-order bonuses and extra offers
Anyone who pre-orders GTA 6, or buys it before 20 November, will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack at no extra charge. The pack is one of the main incentives for players who want to enter the new Vice City setting early.
The bonus bundle includes the ’55 Vapid Stanier and an Ocean Beach personal garage. It also comes with exclusive character outfits and special weapon customization inspired by the classic Vice City era.
Customers who order through the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store will also receive one month of GTA+ for free. The membership includes in-game cash and other subscription benefits.
What players should know before buying
GTA 6 is currently announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There has been no announcement for a PC version.
For PS5 players who want a faster checkout, adding the game to a Wishlist before 25 June may be the simplest step. Once the store page opens, the rest of the process is limited to choosing an edition and completing payment.
The decision between Standard and Ultimate will depend on how much extra content a player wants. The base edition delivers the main game, while the higher tier adds more collectible items and progression rewards for Jason and Lucia in Vice City.
