Gopay users can now send money to overseas bank accounts and e-wallets through a single application. The service covers seven destinations and shows transaction costs and exchange rates before a transfer is confirmed.
The international transfer feature is available for Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand. Users can also track the status of their transfer in real time within the Gopay app.
The service is intended to simplify cross-border money transfers for users who need to send funds to family members abroad. It may be relevant for families with relatives studying or working outside Indonesia.

How to Make an International Transfer
Users begin by opening the Gopay application and selecting Transfer, followed by Transfer Luar Negeri. They then choose the destination country and the recipient’s bank account or e-wallet.
The next step is entering the recipient details and transfer amount. Gopay will present the transaction summary, including the administration fee and exchange rate, for review.
Once the details are considered correct, users confirm the transaction with their Gopay PIN. The transfer status can then be monitored directly in the application.
Kelvin Timotius, Head of Gopay Wallet, said the feature simplifies transfers to overseas bank accounts and e-wallets through one app. In remarks to CNN Indonesia on Tuesday (14/7), he said users receive transparency at every stage of the transaction.
Reviewing the cost and exchange rate before confirmation allows users to check the transfer details in advance. Gopay said its international destination coverage will be expanded gradually.
First Transaction Promotion
During the launch period, Gopay is offering a free administration fee for a user’s first international transfer. The promotion applies as an added option for users trying the cross-border transfer service.
Users should ensure that the recipient information is entered correctly before confirming the transfer with a PIN. The application combines destination selection, recipient details, transaction review, and status monitoring in one process.
