OnePlus will no longer launch new products in Europe and North America, marking a major retreat from two Western markets. Existing device owners, however, are set to retain software updates, security patches, customer support, and warranty services.
The company described the move as a proactive adjustment to its global strategy. It means consumers in the two regions should no longer expect newly released OnePlus models through official local launches.
What Existing OnePlus Owners Can Still Expect
Ending new product launches does not mean support for devices already sold will stop. OnePlus says eligible phones will continue to receive software updates and security patches according to each device’s schedule.
Customer service will also remain available for after-sales needs. This includes support for warranty claims involving OnePlus devices that customers have already purchased.
| Region | New Product Launches | Service Status |
|---|---|---|
| North America | Discontinued | Device support continues; OnePlus Community closes on August 16, 2026 |
| Europe | Discontinued | Device support continues; community and official store remain open |
| India | Continues | OnePlus is still preparing new product launches |
North American Community Service Has an End Date
The most immediate service change for North American users concerns the official OnePlus Community platform. Its website and app will close on August 16, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
OnePlus Community has served as an official forum where users could discuss devices, share experiences, and find product information. Once the closure takes effect, users in North America will no longer be able to access the forum through the website or app.
Europe will follow a different path for now. The OnePlus Community service and official OnePlus stores remain operational there, although the company has not said how long they will continue.
OxygenOS Shift Is Separate From the Market Exit
OnePlus has also announced a global software change that extends beyond Europe and North America. Eligible devices will move from OxygenOS to ColorOS through the Android 17 update in all regions.
The company has not yet identified which devices will qualify for the update. The operating system transition is therefore separate from the decision to stop launching new products in the two Western regions.
The strategy change comes after OnePlus had expanded smartphone sales in the United States through partnerships with T-Mobile and Verizon. Following the pandemic, the company gradually shifted more of its business focus toward India.
India Remains an Active Market
While Europe and North America will no longer receive new official OnePlus launches, operations in India are continuing normally. OnePlus is still preparing several new devices for the country, including the OnePlus N6x.
The contrast underscores India’s role in OnePlus’s current direction as the company operates increasingly under the control of its parent company, Oppo. For current owners in Europe and North America, the central message is that device support remains in place even as future local launches end.
