At GIICOMVEC 2026, PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia placed the Isuzu D-Max Rodeo in the spotlight as a double-cabin model aimed at demanding business use. The vehicle is positioned for operators that need durability, efficiency, and strong mobility across tough work environments.
The model is directed at industries such as mining, plantations, and energy, where reliability and field capability matter as much as payload and control. Isuzu frames the D-Max Rodeo as a work partner that combines a diesel powertrain, off-road hardware, and a full set of safety features.
Built for operational demands
According to IAMI management representative Rian Erlangga, Isuzu understands that business users need vehicles that can last and operate efficiently. He said the D-Max Rodeo was brought in to support productivity across different sectors.
That positioning is reflected in the package offered by the model. Rather than focusing on one strength alone, the D-Max Rodeo is presented as a versatile utility vehicle that balances power, resilience, and control in difficult conditions.
1.9-liter diesel powertrain
At the center of the D-Max Rodeo is the RZ4F 1.9-liter diesel engine. It delivers 150 PS at 3,600 rpm and produces 35.7 kgm of peak torque between 1,800 and 2,600 rpm.
Power is sent through a 6-speed manual transmission, a setup intended to help the vehicle perform well when carrying loads or moving over uneven terrain. For industrial users, the diesel engine’s reputation for toughness is also seen as an important benefit because it can help reduce downtime and support operating efficiency.
Off-road hardware and stability support
Isuzu also equips the D-Max Rodeo with a rotary-knob 4WD system, making it easier for the driver to switch driving modes according to road conditions. To improve traction, the vehicle includes LSD Diff Lock.
Protection underneath the vehicle comes from a steel skid plate, steel sump guard, and transmission case guard. These parts are meant to shield critical components when the double cab is used on rough or extreme routes.
Further changes were made to improve durability and stability. A reinforced aerodynamic deflector supports the vehicle’s endurance, while a higher upper arm position and a roll center placed closer to the vehicle’s center of gravity are intended to help maintain composure whether the truck is loaded or driven in everyday conditions.
Safety equipment made more complete
Safety is a major part of the D-Max Rodeo package. The model includes dual airbags and pretensioner seat belts as basic occupant protection.
Braking support is also reinforced with ABS, EBD, and Brake Assist, helping the driver maintain control during sudden stops. Additional driver-assist systems such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), and Hill Descent Control (HDC) are included to help stabilize the vehicle on inclines, declines, and low-grip surfaces.
Emergency Stop Signal is part of the setup as well, automatically warning other road users during hard braking. In field operations where quick reactions are often required, this function adds another layer of visibility and safety.
Practical cabin and cargo details
Inside, Isuzu keeps the focus on usability. The D-Max Rodeo comes with a follow-me-home headlamp function and manual headlamp leveling, features that support easier day-to-day operation.
The cabin also offers several storage compartments, along with extra space under the second-row seats. This arrangement is designed to keep work items organized and easier to access during use.
At the rear, the bed area is fitted with a guard frame and bed liner. Both elements help protect cargo and reinforce the vehicle’s role as a functional tool for field work.
