Denza B5 PHEV enters Indonesia with a cabin setup that immediately signals a more upscale direction for premium electrified SUVs. The combination of three screens and a built-in smart refrigerator gives the model a distinct identity in a segment where comfort and convenience now matter as much as efficiency.
As part of BYD’s premium Denza line, the B5 is aimed at buyers who want a large SUV with advanced technology and a more refined in-car experience. Its arrival adds pressure to a market that is becoming increasingly crowded, especially as consumers look beyond fuel savings and start prioritizing cabin quality and practical features.
A cabin built around multiple displays
The interior is one of the main reasons the Denza B5 stands out. The dashboard is designed around a multi-screen layout that gives the cabin a modern and futuristic look from the moment the doors open.
There are three main screens inside. They include a digital instrument panel for the driver, a rotating central infotainment display, and a separate entertainment screen for the front passenger.
The system is supported by a latest-generation processor, which is intended to keep responses smooth. Drivers and passengers can access navigation, streaming entertainment, and cabin temperature controls with ease, including through voice commands.
The feature that changes the mood inside the car
The most unusual detail sits in the center console, where Denza has integrated a smart refrigerator. This feature is uncommon in SUVs and gives the B5 a stronger practical appeal for family use and longer trips.
The refrigerator supports precise temperature control. Drinks can be cooled to around 5 degrees Celsius, while food can be kept warm up to 50 degrees Celsius.
That mix of functions makes the B5 feel more like a mobile family room than a conventional SUV. It also helps position the model as a vehicle designed for daily convenience and outdoor activities.
Hybrid range for city use and long-distance travel
Under the skin, the Denza B5 uses plug-in hybrid technology. The setup is meant for buyers who want to enter electrification without fully giving up a conventional engine.
In full electric mode, the SUV is claimed to travel up to around 150 km. When fuel and electric power work together, the total driving range is said to exceed 1,100 km.
Those figures point to a model that can handle everyday urban travel while still being suitable for long-distance driving. Despite its large size, the B5 is also described as quick, with 0 to 100 km/h acceleration taking less than 6 seconds.
Positioned for the premium end of the market
In Indonesia, the Denza B5 is being directed at the premium SUV segment. Its official price has not been announced in detail, but the expected range is around Rp850 million to Rp980 million OTR Jakarta.
With its multi-screen cabin, integrated refrigerator, and advanced hybrid system, the B5 is expected to become a serious contender in its class. Its presence also reflects how the premium electrified SUV market in Indonesia is evolving, with more attention now placed on cabin comfort and unique features alongside efficiency.
