TCL is pushing gaming monitor features further down the price ladder with the 27C2A, a 27-inch model that combines two display modes in a single panel. It is already on sale on JD.com for 2,299 yuan.
The headline feature is not just the size or the gaming-focused design, but the ability to switch between a sharp 4K setup and a much faster Full HD mode. That makes the monitor relevant for both image quality-focused use and competitive play.
Two Modes, Two Very Different Priorities
In its standard mode, the panel runs at 3840 x 2160 resolution with a 160Hz refresh rate. That configuration is aimed at everyday use, media consumption, and demanding games that still benefit from extra detail.
When speed matters more, the monitor can switch to 1920 x 1080 resolution and raise the refresh rate to 320Hz. TCL positions that mode for competitive gaming, where fast motion and responsiveness matter more than pixel density.
| Mode | Resolution | Refresh Rate | Main Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 4K 3840 x 2160 | 160Hz | Detailed visuals and general use |
| Full HD | 1920 x 1080 | 320Hz | Competitive gaming and fast response |
Mini LED Hardware With High-End Lighting Control
The 27C2A uses a QD-Mini LED panel with 1,196 local dimming zones. TCL says that design is intended to reduce blooming by controlling the backlight more precisely than conventional LCD panels.
The monitor is rated for a peak brightness of 1,200 nits and carries DisplayHDR 1000 certification. Its 10-bit panel also covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space and 99% of sRGB.
TCL adds factory calibration with a Delta E value below 2. That gives the monitor a more balanced profile for users who want gaming performance without giving up color accuracy.

|---|---|
| Screen Size | 27 inches |
| Panel | QD-Mini LED |
| Local Dimming Zones | 1,196 |
| Peak Brightness | 1,200 nits |

Built for Fast-Paced Play
For gaming performance, TCL lists a 1ms gray-to-gray response time. The company also says an effective 0.2ms figure can be reached through specific motion clarity settings.
Adaptive sync support includes AMD FreeSync Premium and G-Sync Compatible certification. Those features are meant to reduce tearing when frame rates fluctuate during play.
The software side includes familiar overlays such as a crosshair and a frame rate counter. TCL says some of the announced software features will arrive later through an OTA update.
Ergonomics and Connectivity
The stand supports height adjustment up to 125mm, tilt, swivel, and 90-degree pivot for vertical use. VESA mounting is also supported for users who prefer an arm or an alternate stand.
Connectivity options include two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, and one headphone jack. TCL also includes DC dimming to help keep the display comfortable and flicker-free during use.
The 27C2A shows how TCL is moving premium gaming features into a more affordable segment. With dual-mode 4K and 320Hz performance, it gives buyers in China an unusually flexible option in the crowded gaming monitor market.
Elsewhere in the category, Hisense has launched a very low-cost Full HD 180Hz gaming monitor lineup, while Dell has introduced the Alienware AW3426DW with a 34-inch QD-OLED panel and a 280Hz refresh rate in Europe.
