TCL’s RM9L is arriving in retail with a specification sheet that immediately places it among the most aggressive big-screen premium TVs in the market. Its headline claim of up to 9,000 nits makes the set stand out before even considering its size options, gaming features, and smart TV integration.
The model is now being sold in the United States, and TCL is clearly positioning it as a flagship-style choice for buyers who want a jumbo display with premium image ambitions. The launch also suggests that TCL is pushing harder into large-format TVs that are meant to compete on brightness, motion handling, and software rather than size alone.
A big-screen lineup with premium pricing
Retail listings show the RM9L in 85-inch, 98-inch, and 115-inch versions. At P.C. Richard & Son, the prices are listed at $5,999.99, $8,999.99, and $24,999.99 respectively.
Best Buy also lists the same three sizes, but at higher prices. The 85-inch model is shown at $7,999.99, the 98-inch version at $9,999.99, and the 115-inch model at $29,999.99.
In Europe, TCL has not officially launched the RM9L yet. Even so, retailers such as expert TechnoMarkt are already displaying the three sizes with estimated prices of €7,999 for the 85-inch model, €10,999 for the 98-inch version, and €19,999 for the 115-inch variant.
Built for image performance and gaming
The RM9L is a 4K TV with a native 144Hz refresh rate, which places it firmly in the premium category. TCL also adds Game Accelerator 288 VRR, a feature aimed at making gameplay feel smoother.
All three sizes use a CSOT WHVA Ultra Panel with a coating that is claimed to help reduce glare. TCL says the 98-inch model uses more than 5,600 dimming zones, and the series is also said to reach as high as 9,000 nits of brightness.
Color support is another part of the pitch. TCL claims 100% BT.2020 color gamut coverage, and Dolby Vision IQ is included as well.
Google TV and Gemini are part of the package
On the software side, RM9L runs on Google TV as its main interface. That gives users access to popular streaming apps through a familiar smart TV platform.
TCL also integrates Google Gemini into Google TV. That makes content navigation and search a more central part of the experience, rather than just an added convenience.
The combination of a giant panel, very high brightness claims, and gaming-focused hardware makes RM9L one of TCL’s most aggressive premium TV offerings. It is aimed at users who want one display for modern streaming, gaming, and smart features without giving up scale.
Release is expanding, but not evenly across regions
The TV is already appearing at U.S. retailers, but TCL has not confirmed an official European launch timeline. The early retail presence still suggests that wider distribution is being prepared for the RGB-Mini LED series.
RM9L’s arrival in stores shows that interest is already building around the product before a broader rollout takes shape. With sizes reaching 115 inches and a peak brightness claim of 9,000 nits, it is one of the most attention-grabbing models in TCL’s large-screen lineup.
