Sony’s next high-resolution mirrorless camera is shaping up to be far more ambitious than a simple successor to the A7R V. Early leaks point to the A7R VI arriving with a 67MP-class sensor, 30fps burst shooting, and video features that push it into true flagship territory.
That combination matters because it suggests Sony is not treating this model as a stills-only upgrade. Instead, the A7R VI appears aimed at photographers and hybrid creators who want one body that can handle detailed stills, fast action, and advanced video work.
A flagship shift in the A7R line
The most talked-about specification is the new fully stacked sensor, which is said to deliver around 67 megapixels. Alongside the higher resolution, the sensor is expected to improve readout speed and dynamic range.
