Vivo appears to be taking a more ambitious route with the S60, aiming to push the midrange premium segment closer to flagship territory. Early information points to a combination of Snapdragon 8s-series performance, a 1.5K display, and a large battery as the main attractions.
The first official teaser came from Vivo product manager Han Boxiao on Weibo. In the image, the S60 is shown in a silver-white finish inspired by light reflecting on the sea, giving it a refined look from the start.
A more premium design approach
Vivo is not relying on color alone to lift the S60’s appeal. The rear panel is said to use cold-carved glass, a finish that adds a more futuristic and luxurious impression.
That direction supports the S-series identity, which has long been associated with slim and stylish phones. The S60 is being positioned to continue that character while feeling more upscale than a typical midrange model.
Display details point to everyday comfort
The standard Vivo S60 is reportedly equipped with a 6.59-inch panel with 1.5K resolution. It also uses curved edges, which should make the device look and feel softer and more modern.
This size and resolution combination puts the phone in a comfortable spot for media consumption and daily use. For buyers who want a sharp screen without stepping into flagship pricing territory, the setup looks appealing on paper.
Snapdragon 8s-series performance in focus
Performance is another major selling point. The S60 is expected to use a Snapdragon 8s-series chipset, placing it firmly in the midrange premium category.
That choice suggests the phone is being built for heavier tasks as well, including gaming. The positioning is clear: Vivo wants to offer strong power without requiring buyers to move all the way to a full flagship.
Battery and charging may be the biggest draw
The most attention-grabbing leak so far is the battery capacity. Digital Chat Station says the number will start with “7,” which points to a battery of around 7,000 mAh.
If that information proves accurate, the S60 could become a strong option for all-day use. Vivo is also said to pair it with 90W fast charging, helping the large battery remain practical in real use.
Camera, durability, and security updates
Photography is also expected to receive special attention. The S60 is said to carry a large horizontal camera module with a telephoto periscope sensor from Sony’s IMX8 series.
That points to a clear focus on zoom capability and camera versatility. Other reports mention telephoto extender accessories and a magnetic system through a special case, which would further expand its imaging setup.
Durability and security are also part of the package. The phone is said to include a metal frame, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and IP68/IP69 certification.
A Pro Mini model is also in the works
Alongside the standard version, Vivo is also said to be preparing the S60 Pro Mini. This variant is expected to be more compact while keeping the same performance-oriented character.
There is also a possibility that the model name will change for global markets. If earlier patterns are repeated, the S60 Pro Mini could arrive outside China as the Vivo X500 FE in the first half of 2027.
The Pro Mini version is also linked to a collaboration with a well-known Chinese anime IP. With premium materials, a 1.5K screen, Snapdragon 8s-series power, and a battery that may reach around 7,000 mAh, the S60 is shaping up as one of Vivo’s most interesting midrange premium contenders.
