A new budget tablet from Poco is drawing attention not because it tries to redefine the category, but because it puts several higher-tier features into an unusually low starting price. The Poco Pad C1 arrives in the US market with an entry tag of $139, yet still includes a 2K 120Hz display, a 7,600mAh battery, and a Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset.
That combination makes the device easy to place: this is a tablet aimed at affordable entertainment, everyday browsing, and long usage sessions. It also ships with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 right out of the box, which gives the Pad C1 a software advantage uncommon at this level.
A display built to stand out
The most visible selling point is the 9.7-inch IPS LCD panel. It carries a 2048 x 1280 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 180Hz touch sampling rate, while peak brightness is rated at up to 600 nits.
Poco pairs that screen with four speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos. The result is a setup that leans heavily toward streaming, reading, and general media use, especially for buyers who want a bigger, sharper display without moving into a higher price bracket.
Performance and storage for daily use
Inside, the Poco Pad C1 relies on the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2. It is offered with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
There is also support for microSD expansion up to 2TB. That makes the tablet more flexible for users who plan to store video, documents, apps, and other files locally rather than depending only on internal memory.
Battery life gets the priority treatment
Power is another major focus. Poco equips the Pad C1 with a 7,600mAh battery and supports USB-C charging at up to 18W.
The included charger, however, is rated at only 15W. That means the tablet can accept more than the adapter in the box is able to deliver, even though the battery capacity itself is one of the strongest parts of the package.
Despite the large battery, the hardware stays relatively manageable. The tablet measures 7.4mm thick and weighs 406 grams, which keeps it in a portable range for a device built around a large screen.
Simple cameras and familiar connectivity
The camera setup is modest and clearly intended for basics. Poco includes an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera for tasks such as video calls, document scanning, and simple snapshots.
Connectivity is equally straightforward, with Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C 2.0, and a 3.5mm headphone jack with Hi-Res audio support. Those choices keep the device practical for everyday use, even if the overall feature set stays firmly in the entry-level class.
Pricing and variants
Poco is selling the Pad C1 in two memory configurations. The 4GB + 64GB version costs $139, while the 6GB + 128GB model is priced at $179.
The tablet comes in Blue and Grey. It also shares a very close identity with the Redmi Pad 2 9.7, which previously appeared in Malaysia and Singapore, making the Poco model essentially a rebranded version with the same specifications.
