Hot 70 Turns Its Back Panel Into A Temperature Reacting Feature, With 12 Finish Options

Infinix is taking a different route with the Hot 70 by making the back panel part of the experience, not just the casing. One of its most eye-catching versions, Thermo Orange, can actually shift appearance when exposed to heat or cold.

The effect is simple but unusual. Under normal conditions, the rear panel shows a light orange tone, then turns into a deeper orange after exposure to very cold temperatures.

Infinix says the change can be seen by placing the phone in a freezer for 5 to 15 minutes. The same thermal response also appears when the back is heated with a hairdryer, although the color becomes lighter instead.

The shift is not limited to a visual trick. Infinix says the thermal response can also create patterns on the rear panel, which adds a more personal feel to the device.

A design-first approach

That move helps the Hot 70 stand out in a market where many phones look broadly similar. Rather than relying only on static color finishes, Infinix is building interactivity directly into the body of the device.

The Hot 70 lineup is also offered in other finishes for users who want a different look. Quiet Violet and Green Texture use a gradient rear panel with feather-like elements that reflect light.

Those two variants are further highlighted by Crystal Mood Island around the camera area. Infinix says the feature brings a sparkling light-refraction effect, making the camera module part of the overall design language.

For users who prefer calmer tones, the company also offers Night Pulse, Silver Dancer, and Dive Blue. These three colors keep a more restrained character and do not use the color-changing effect found on the more striking versions.

Uniform build across the range

Even with the wide color selection, the physical body remains the same across all Hot 70 units. Infinix says every model has a thickness of 7.49 mm and a weight of 195 grams.

That means the main differences are concentrated in the visual treatment and surface finish. The company appears to be using design variation as the main way to separate the models, while keeping the overall form factor consistent.

The phone also includes an Active Halo LED status bar placed below the camera. This lighting element is available on all versions and can be programmed for different uses.

Infinix says the Active Halo LED can handle notifications, charging cues, and gaming-related activity. That gives the rear side of the phone a more active look while also making status information easier to notice without turning on the display.

A lineup built around personalization

Altogether, the Hot 70 is shaping up as a product that treats appearance as one of its main selling points. The combination of thermal color change, refractive lighting effects, multiple finishes, and LED status lighting gives the series a distinct visual identity.

Infinix says the Hot 70 lineup will be available in 12 color choices in total. That level of variety reinforces the idea that personalization is a central theme for the series.

The company began showing more of the Hot 70’s appeal ahead of its global launch on May 25. The phone had already launched in Bangladesh, and more details about its design are now being revealed as the global debut approaches.
