The biggest talking points around Vivo S60 are no longer subtle. A 7,200 mAh battery, 90W wired charging, and a 50MP periscope camera with 3x optical zoom place the phone firmly in the spotlight ahead of its expected unveiling on 29 May.
That combination makes the device look unusually ambitious for the upper midrange segment. Reports also point to a second China-bound model called the Vitality Edition, suggesting Vivo is preparing two different takes on the same platform.
A flat display and a high-end chip
One Weibo tipster says the Vivo S60 will use a 6.59-inch flat display with 1260p resolution. The same leak points to Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 as the main processor, which should give the phone a more serious performance profile than its battery-first specification alone might suggest.
The flat panel design also gives the handset a more practical look for everyday use. Combined with the reported chipset, the S60 appears aimed at buyers who want both efficiency and stronger visual performance.
Camera hardware takes center stage
Photography is clearly one of the key selling points here. The Vivo S60 is said to come with a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom using the Sony IMX882 sensor.
Up front, Vivo is reportedly preparing a 50MP selfie camera. That setup suggests the company is leaning hard into both long-range shooting and high-resolution self-portraits.
Big battery, slim body
Battery life may be the most eye-catching part of the package. The handset is said to pack a 7,200 mAh battery and support 90W wired fast charging, while still keeping a slim profile.
Reported dimensions place the device at 157.52 x 74.33 x 7.92 mm with a weight of 207 grams. Those numbers make the battery capacity even more notable, since the phone is still described as relatively slim.
Premium materials and extra features
The same leak claims Vivo is using a metal frame and a glass back panel. It also says the phone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Other listed features include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, an IR blaster, and an X-axis linear vibration motor. Together, these details give the S60 the feel of a more premium device rather than a simple battery-focused model.
Vitality Edition targets a lighter approach
Vivo is also said to be preparing a Vitality Edition for China. This version is described as very similar to the regular S60, but with a few notable changes.
The biggest differences are in the camera system and the chipset. The Vitality Edition reportedly drops the periscope telephoto camera and uses the Dimensity 7500 instead of Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which also helps bring the weight down to 199 grams.
Aside from those changes, the Vitality Edition is said to be identical to the main model. That leaves Vivo with a second option for users who do not need optical zoom but still want a similar overall design and hardware layout.
Possible global rebranding
Vivo has already teased the S60 earlier this month, so the latest details arriving before the 29 May launch window have drawn extra attention. There is also a chance that the phone may appear under a different name outside China.
The Vivo S50 previously launched internationally as the V70 Elite with small adjustments, and a similar pattern could follow again. In that case, the Vivo V80 Elite has been mentioned as a possible global equivalent with similar specifications to the S60.
