Galaxy A57 5G Stresses Comfort Over Hype, But Its Price Still Nears Rp 9 Million

Samsung Galaxy A57 5G does not try to win attention with one dramatic headline feature. Instead, it leans on a more measured formula built around comfort, stability, and long-term usability, even as its price moves close to Rp 9 juta.

That positioning makes the phone feel aimed at users who want a dependable daily device rather than a spec sheet that only looks strong on paper. Samsung appears to have focused on balance across the body, display, performance, camera processing, battery life, and software support.

A more comfortable body for long sessions

The first thing that stands out is how compact the device feels in hand. Samsung gives the Galaxy A57 5G a 6.9 mm body and a 179 gram weight, which helps it feel light and less tiring during extended use.

The brushed aluminum frame adds a more premium impression, while IP68 certification raises protection from the IP67 level found on the previous generation. Gorilla Glass Victus+ is still included, although the lower bezel remains slightly thicker than what some rivals offer in the same price range.

The display is the main selling point

Samsung equips the Galaxy A57 5G with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED+ panel and a 120Hz refresh rate. The result is smooth scrolling, better video playback, and a more responsive feel in casual gaming.

The screen also benefits from narrower, more symmetrical bezels, helping push the screen-to-body ratio to around 88.8%. With brightness reaching 1,900 nits, plus HDR10+ and Vision Booster support, the display remains comfortable to use outdoors, including under direct sunlight.

Users can switch between Vivid and Natural color modes depending on preference. Samsung also includes Eye Comfort Shield to help reduce blue light exposure during longer viewing sessions.

Performance aims at everyday reliability

Inside, the Galaxy A57 5G uses the Exynos 1680 with the AMD Xclipse 550 GPU based on RDNA 3. In daily use, the phone feels smooth for multitasking, social media, streaming, and light editing.

It is not positioned as a hardcore gaming device. Some competitive games are still limited to certain graphics settings, which keeps the focus on general use rather than heavy gaming performance.

Benchmark results do show a clear jump over its predecessors. On AnTuTu, the Galaxy A57 scored 1,341,650, ahead of the Galaxy A56 at 909,431 and the Galaxy A55 at 718,697.

Geekbench numbers also reflect the improvement, with 1,377 in single-core and 4,411 in multi-core testing. That compares with the Galaxy A56’s 1,355 and 3,780, while the Galaxy A55 posted 1,152 and 3,380.

Thermals and battery support the long-use idea

Samsung also puts emphasis on heat management. A larger vapor chamber helps keep temperatures under control during longer sessions, which supports the phone’s wider identity as a device built for sustained use.

Battery life is another strength. The Galaxy A57 5G carries a 5,000 mAh battery, with Samsung claiming more than a full day of use and around 6 hours of screen-on time when the 120Hz refresh rate is active.

In PCMark testing, the phone recorded 15 hours and 34 minutes. That level of endurance should make it easier to get through a full day without frequent charging stops.

Familiar cameras, improved processing

The camera hardware remains unchanged from the Galaxy A56. The setup includes a 50 MP main camera with OIS, a 12 MP ultrawide, a 5 MP macro camera, and a 12 MP front camera.

What changes is the image processing, thanks to an updated ISP. Samsung says this brings sharper daytime shots with good dynamic range, while low-light results improve through upgraded Nightography processing.

The ultrawide camera remains satisfactory in bright conditions, but quality still drops in low light, so it does not match the main camera’s consistency. For video, the Galaxy A57 5G can record up to 4K 30fps from both the front and rear cameras, including the ultrawide.

The rear camera also supports 1080p at 60fps, while stabilization is available only at 30fps.

Software support is one of its biggest advantages

Out of the box, the Galaxy A57 5G runs Android 16 with One UI 8.5. Samsung also promises 6 years of OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates, which could keep the device supported through Android 22.

That long update window is one of the clearest reasons the phone feels future-proof in its class. One UI 8.5 is described as smooth and responsive, while Samsung adds the Now Bar for personalized AI-based information and suggestions that help with daily tasks and routines.

The AI package is not as extensive as what flagship phones offer, but it still covers useful functions. These include Generative Wallpapers, AI Select through Edge Panel for text extraction and content creation, Drag & Drop across apps in Multi-Window, Voice Recorder with AI transcription, Object Eraser, Best Face, and Auto Trim for video editing.

Taken together, the Galaxy A57 5G reads as a carefully refined device rather than a phone built to chase short-term excitement. Its strongest case comes from comfort, a highly capable display, solid everyday performance, and unusually long software support for a model in this segment.
