A new hands-on video showing a dummy unit said to be the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide has drawn attention for one clear reason: the device looks extremely thin when folded. The clip offers the clearest look yet at Samsung’s direction for this foldable, especially as rumors about a July debut continue to circulate.
The dummy unit was shared by Sonny Dickson and shown in white. In the video, the phone’s slim profile stands out immediately, with Dickson describing the thickness as “crazy” and saying it looks as thin as the Galaxy S25 Edge when folded.

Even though this is not a final product, the video makes several physical details easier to identify. The power button and volume keys are visible on the side, while a USB Type-C port appears at the bottom.
The back of the dummy unit also shows two cameras. That detail has quickly become one of the most discussed parts of the leak because it gives an early clue about Samsung’s design approach for this foldable.

For now, “Wide” is mostly being used as a temporary label to separate this model from Samsung’s other foldables. The name has helped frame the device as one with a wider form factor rather than the taller, narrower shape often associated with the line.

Earlier rumors have pointed to a 50MP main camera for the device. A 50MP ultrawide camera is also said to be part of the setup.
Battery capacity has been mentioned as 4,800mAh. Inside, the phone is rumored to feature a 7.6-inch display with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
That aspect ratio matters because it suggests a more tablet-like viewing experience. A 4:3 panel typically offers more room for reading, document work, and side-by-side app use.
If those details hold up, Samsung seems to be aiming for more than just a thinner chassis. The company also appears to be prioritizing a broader inner display to help the model stand out in the premium foldable segment.
