9000 mAh in a Slim 8.29mm Body, vivo Y600 Turbo Pushes Mid-Range Limits

vivo has pushed the mid-range conversation in a different direction with the Y600 Turbo, a phone that puts a 9000 mAh battery at the center of its identity. That single spec is enough to make it stand out, but vivo also pairs it with a body that stays relatively slim at 8.29 mm and weighs 215 grams.

That combination is unusual in a segment where large batteries often come with bulky designs. Here, the focus is not only endurance, but also on keeping the device practical enough for everyday use.

Battery life as the main selling point

The biggest headline is the 9000 mAh battery, and vivo does not leave it alone. The phone supports 90 W fast charging through USB Type-C, which should help offset the size of the battery during daily use.

vivo also says the battery remains optimal at temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius. In addition, the company claims the battery is built for up to 6 years of use, reinforcing the device’s long-term durability focus.

A mid-range chip with generous memory options

Under the hood, the Y600 Turbo uses the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 built on a 4 nm process. It is paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, a setup that targets balanced performance rather than aggressive flagship ambitions.

Buyers get three memory variants: 8/256 GB, 12/256 GB, and 12/512 GB. The phone also runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, with a claim of smooth performance for up to 60 months.

Large AMOLED display with very high brightness

On the front, the Y600 Turbo carries a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1260 x 2800 pixels. It also supports a 120 Hz refresh rate and reaches a peak brightness of 5000 nits.

The thin display borders help the panel feel even larger in use. At the top, vivo places an 8 MP selfie camera with an f/2.05 aperture and 2X digital zoom.

Simple rear camera setup

The back uses a square camera module with rounded corners and a black finish. Inside it are an LED light, a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and 10X digital zoom, plus a 2 MP bokeh camera with an f/2.4 aperture.

The camera arrangement shows that vivo is not chasing a crowded multi-camera system. Instead, the company appears to be keeping the setup straightforward for everyday use.

Built for rougher conditions

Durability is another area where the Y600 Turbo goes beyond what many mid-range phones offer. It carries IP68 and IP69 certification, which means it is dust-resistant, can handle immersion, and is protected against high-temperature water spray.

The phone also includes stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and NFC. Color choices are blue, pink, and gold, giving the device a more familiar consumer-friendly range despite its unusually large battery.

Pricing and configurations

The 8/256 GB version is priced at 2,299 yuan, or around Rp6 million. The 12/256 GB model costs 2,5999 yuan, or around Rp6.8 million, while the 12/512 GB variant is listed at 2,899 yuan, or around Rp7.5 million.

With that pricing structure, vivo places the Y600 Turbo in a position where battery capacity, fast charging, brightness, and durability carry more weight than the usual mid-range formula. It is a phone built for users who want long endurance without giving up a body that still looks and feels manageable.
