Vivo X Fold 6 Could Raise the Foldable Bar with 7,000mAh-Plus Battery and 200MP Camera

The biggest talking points around Vivo X Fold 6 are not just the leaks about its release window, but the scale of the hardware upgrade reportedly planned for the foldable. A battery above 7,000mAh and a 200-megapixel rear camera would place the device in a far more aggressive position against other premium book-style foldables.

That combination matters because foldable phones usually have to compromise between slim design and endurance. Vivo appears to be aiming for a model that keeps a thin and light body while pushing battery capacity well beyond the 6,000mAh pack used in Vivo X Fold 5.

A new direction for performance

Another notable change concerns the chipset. Vivo X Fold 6 is said to switch to MediaTek Dimensity 9500, marking a shift away from Qualcomm-powered predecessors.

Vivo X Fold 5 used Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while Vivo X Fold 3 came with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. If the Dimensity 9500 leak is accurate, Vivo is clearly adjusting its strategy for the next high-end foldable rather than simply repeating the previous formula.

Camera hardware gets more ambitious

Camera upgrades are also shaping up to be a major part of the story. Digital Chat Station says the phone will feature a large circular rear camera module, a design language that is already familiar across many Vivo devices.

The same leak points to a 200-megapixel main sensor and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. That setup suggests Vivo is placing stronger emphasis on both fine detail and long-range shooting, although the full rear camera arrangement has not been revealed.

The display details are still limited, but the device is also said to use rounded screen corners. An engineering sample in white has reportedly been mentioned as well.

What the current model offers

For context, Vivo X Fold 5 launched in China in June last year with an 8.03-inch AMOLED main display and a 6.53-inch AMOLED cover display. Both panels supported a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits.

The phone came with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Its rear camera system included three 50-megapixel sensors: a Sony IMX921 main camera, a Sony IMX882 telephoto camera, and an ultrawide camera.

On the front, the device carried two 20-megapixel cameras. It also offered IPX8, IPX9, and IP5X certification, plus 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.

Why the leaks are getting attention

Among the details now circulating, three stand out most clearly: a possible launch in China by the end of this month, the move to Dimensity 9500, and the battery capacity above 7,000mAh. The 200-megapixel camera and 50-megapixel periscope lens add another layer of interest if they arrive together.

For now, Vivo has not confirmed the X Fold 6 publicly. Until that happens, the timing and final specification list remain unverified, even as the leak cycle continues to build expectations around the next foldable model.
