Redmi Pad 2 9.7 Pairs a 120 Hz Display With a Sub-Rp 2.5 Million Price Tag

Xiaomi has expanded its affordable lineup with two products that target everyday use, from work and study to entertainment. The new pair consists of the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 and Redmi Headphone Neo, both positioned to stand out in their respective categories without moving far from a budget-friendly price range.

The tablet is priced at Rp 2.399.000, while the over-ear headphone comes in at Rp 1.999.000. Both products are scheduled to go on sale on 6 June 2026 through Xiaomi Indonesia’s official online and offline stores.

A small tablet that leans on a more premium display experience

The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 uses a 9.7-inch 2K IPS LCD panel. Its refresh rate reaches 120 Hz, while the maximum brightness is listed at 600 nits and the touch sampling rate goes up to 180 Hz.

That combination is the main reason the tablet stands out in its price class. Xiaomi also includes TÜV Rheinland certifications for Low Blue Light, Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly, which are intended to improve comfort during long viewing sessions.

In terms of size, the tablet measures 226.51 mm x 147.97 mm x 7.4 mm and weighs 401 grams. It is built for portability and easy daily carry.

Performance, storage, and software

Under the hood, the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 runs on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 2. The chip uses an octa-core 6 nm process with clock speeds of up to 2.9 GHz.

Xiaomi pairs it with 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Users who need more room for documents, apps, and media files can expand storage with microSD cards up to 2 TB.

The tablet also supports AI Face Unlock for device security. On the software side, it ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and includes Google AI features such as Circle to Search.

Battery, cameras, and connectivity

Power comes from a 7,600 mAh battery that Xiaomi says can last more than a day on a single charge. The device is also equipped with a 4G connection, which adds to its mobility.

The rear camera uses an 8 MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and supports 1080p 30 fps and 720p 30 fps video recording. On the front, the tablet carries a 5 MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture and the same video recording support.

Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0 and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 is offered in Graphite Gray and Silver.

Redmi Headphone Neo enters with ANC as the headline feature

Alongside the tablet, Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Headphone Neo as the first headphone in the Redmi lineup. This over-ear model focuses on audio quality, active noise cancellation, and long battery life.

It uses a 40 mm dynamic driver with a titanium diaphragm. Xiaomi says this setup is designed to deliver strong bass and detailed treble, while the USB-C wired connection supports a frequency range of 20 Hz to 40 kHz.

The headphone is also certified for Hi-Res Audio. Sound settings can be adjusted through the Xiaomi Earbuds app, which offers five equalizer modes.

Noise control is one of the biggest selling points here. Xiaomi states that the ANC system can reduce noise by up to 42 dB and provides three adjustable modes for different listening situations.

The headphone also uses three microphones with AI noise reduction. Xiaomi says this setup helps keep voice calls clear and reduces wind interference at speeds of up to 5 m/s.

Long battery life and modern wireless support

The Redmi Headphone Neo carries a battery of around 600 mAh. Xiaomi claims it can last up to 72 hours with ANC turned off and volume set around 50 percent.

Fast charging is supported as well, and a 10-minute charge is said to provide up to five hours of music playback. For wireless use, the headphone relies on Bluetooth 5.4, which Xiaomi says offers a more stable and efficient connection than the previous generation.

Its design includes large ear cushions and an adjustable headband. The available color options are Obsidian Black and Sand White.
