Nothing Ear (3a) Adds Audio Snapshot and Call Recording, Battery Life Reaches 42 Hours

Nothing has expanded its affordable audio lineup with the Ear (3a), a pair of earbuds that adds several notable features without changing the price of the previous generation. The biggest draw is not only the battery life, but also Audio Snapshot, call recording, and built-in storage inside the earbuds.

For users who move constantly between music, meetings, and phone calls, the new package feels more practical than a routine refresh. According to Gizmochina, the Ear (3a) also brings stronger active noise cancellation, Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity, and dual-device support.

Audio Snapshot and Call Recording Stand Out Most

Audio Snapshot is the feature most likely to catch attention first. With 32MB of flash memory built into the earbuds, users can save short audio clips from whatever they are listening to using a pinch gesture.

The recording is then handled inside the Nothing X app, where it can be replayed, edited, shared, and transcribed. The Ear (3a) also supports recording calls and meetings for up to two hours, with an audio notification that informs all participants when recording starts.

12mm Driver, 45dB ANC, and LDAC Support

On the sound side, Nothing equips the Ear (3a) with a 12mm dynamic driver, Hi-Res Audio Wireless, LDAC, and an 8-band equalizer for tuning the sound profile. Nothing says the active noise cancellation has been upgraded to 45dB and now covers a wider frequency range.

The company also claims the noise reduction performance is about 17 percent better than the previous generation. In addition, the earbuds use Bluetooth 6.0, support two devices at once, and carry an IP54 rating for resistance to dust and splashes.

Battery Life Is Still One of the Strongest Selling Points

Nothing Ear (3a) is rated for up to 10 hours of audio playback on a single charge. With the charging case, total listening time reaches 42 hours when ANC is turned off.

With ANC enabled, the total battery life is listed at 25 hours. A five-minute quick charge is said to provide up to one hour of listening time, while the charging case includes a three-step LED indicator to show remaining power.

Price and Color Options

Nothing is selling the Ear (3a) for $99 and offers four color options: Black, White, Yellow, and Pink, with Pink added as a new choice. The product is available through Nothing’s official channels.

With call recording, stronger ANC, and longer battery life combined in one package, the Ear (3a) is positioned for users who want affordable earbuds that still feel unusually versatile. In its price segment, Nothing has kept the formula distinctive enough to remain difficult to ignore.
