OnePlus has quietly started building anticipation for the next device in its entry-level N series, and the signs are now pointing to the OnePlus N6x. A dedicated microsite is already live in India, and the phone is set to be sold through Amazon.
That early setup matters because it suggests OnePlus is preparing the market before revealing the full device. For now, though, the company has not confirmed the design, specifications, pricing, or launch date.
A second N series model is on the way
The OnePlus N6x will become the second model in the new N series, following the OnePlus N6 that launched in India last month. The lineup sits below Nord and represents OnePlus’ most affordable phone family, making this next release especially important for the brand’s budget strategy.
That positioning also raises expectations, because the N6x may help define how far OnePlus is willing to push value in this lower tier. Until the company shares more, buyers are left with only a small but meaningful set of clues.
Microsite live, Amazon confirmed
The clearest signal so far is the official microsite in India, which confirms Amazon as the sales channel. That usually means a launch is close enough for OnePlus to begin seeding interest, even if the full announcement has not arrived yet.
Beyond that, the company has remained quiet. The handset’s appearance, hardware details, and price remain under wraps, which keeps the focus on what OnePlus is willing to reveal next.
What the current N6 already brings
To understand the context around the N6x, the current OnePlus N6 offers a 6.75-inch LCD display with HD resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits. It also carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.
| Model | Main Highlights | Status in India |
|---|---|---|
| OnePlus N6 | 6.75-inch HD LCD, up to 120Hz, 1,200 nits, IP65, 8,000mAh battery | Already on sale |
| OnePlus N6x | Microsite live, Amazon sales confirmed, specifications not revealed | Coming soon |
Under the hood, the N6 uses a MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex octa-core chipset and is said to score more than 6,15,800 points on AnTuTu. Battery life is another headline feature, with an 8,000mAh cell, 45W wired fast charging, and 6.5W reverse wired charging.
Its camera setup includes a 50MP rear sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and up to 10x digital zoom, along with an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Those details help show the direction OnePlus is taking with the N series, even as the N6x itself remains largely a mystery.
What remains unanswered
Tipster Yogesh Brar, known on X as @heyitsyogesh, has suggested that the OnePlus N6x will debut with “familiar” specifications. The comment hints that the phone may not stray far from an existing formula, but it does not explain which parts will carry over.
For now, that leaves the N6x in an unusual position: visible enough to confirm an upcoming launch, but still short on the details that matter most to buyers. The next announcement from OnePlus will need to answer whether this is a modest refresh or the start of a more defined budget play.
