Realme GT 8 Pro Launches Featuring Ricoh Modular Camera and 7000mAh Battery Power

Realme has launched the GT 8 Pro in India and Malaysia, targeting users who seek advanced photography and long-lasting battery life. This device features a collaboration with Ricoh GR for an innovative modular camera system and a massive 7000 mAh battery.

The official launch was held globally on November 20, with sales starting on November 25 in India and November 29 in Malaysia. This flagship smartphone is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, ensuring high-end performance for both computing and graphics tasks.

Innovative Ricoh GR Modular Camera System

The camera is Realme GT 8 Pro’s standout feature, thanks to its exclusive partnership with the Japanese camera brand Ricoh GR. It includes a triple rear camera setup: a 50 MP main sensor, a 50 MP ultrawide lens, and a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens. This configuration offers rich photography options for enthusiasts and professionals alike.

Users can enjoy a dedicated Ricoh GR camera mode that replicates classic film color profiles and introduces Snap Focus, a mode designed especially for street photography. The customizable "switchable camera bump" lets users replace the camera module with different shapes such as circular, square, or robot-themed designs, enhancing personalization.

The 200 MP telephoto sensor stands out with a large 1/1.56-inch sensor, supporting up to 120x digital zoom and 3x optical zoom. It also records 4K video at 120fps with Dolby Vision, catering to high-quality videography needs.

Massive 7000 mAh Battery with Ultra-Fast Charging

To match its powerful hardware, the Realme GT 8 Pro features a 7000 mAh battery, offering extended usage even under heavy use. The battery supports 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, significantly reducing downtime.

Early reviews suggest battery life may vary depending on usage patterns, especially with constant 5G connectivity and intensive camera operation. Nonetheless, the ultra-fast charging capability remains a key advantage for users needing quick top-ups on the go.

Premium Specifications Enhance User Experience

The smartphone sports a 6.79-inch AMOLED display with a 2K resolution of 1440 x 3136 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate, delivering smooth visuals. It reaches up to 7000 nits peak brightness, among the brightest on the market, and incorporates global DC dimming technology to reduce eye strain.

Powered by Realme UI 7.0 on Android 16, it offers up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Additional premium features include an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, IP69 dust and water resistance certification, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a 7000mm² vapor chamber cooling system.

Pricing and Availability in India and Malaysia

In India, the Realme GT 8 Pro starts at ₹72,999 (around $880 USD) for the 12GB + 256GB variant, while the 16GB + 512GB variant is priced at ₹78,999 (about $955 USD). Its launch in India and Malaysia highlights Realme’s global expansion strategy and commitment to meeting diverse user demands.
