Vivo has positioned the X300 FE to stand out in a crowded premium market by combining a compact form factor with features usually associated with a much more photography-focused device. The phone may resemble iPhone Air at a glance, but its ZEISS-backed camera system and 6,500mAh battery are the real points of interest.
That approach places the X300 FE between the standard Vivo X300 and the more expensive X300 Pro. It also gives Vivo a product that targets buyers who want flagship-level performance, imaging, and battery life without moving all the way up to the brand’s most expensive tier.
Pricing and placement in the X300 lineup
In India, the Vivo X300 FE starts at Rs 79,999 for the 12GB/256GB version. The higher-end 12GB/512GB model is priced at Rs 89,999, keeping the phone firmly in premium territory.
The lineup positioning is clear, with the Vivo X300 listed at Rs 75,999 and the Vivo X300 Pro at Rs 1,09,999. Vivo appears to be filling the space between those models while leaving the X300 Ultra zone for users who are more focused on mobile photography.
The phone comes in Urban Olive, Noir Black, and Lilac Purple. Pre-orders are open through Vivo’s official website, Flipkart, Amazon, and exclusive Vivo stores, while sales begin on May 14.
Vivo is also adding purchase incentives in India. Buyers can get 10% instant cashback with select bank cards, a Rs 5,000 upgrade bonus for existing customers, and one extra year of warranty at no additional cost.
A compact body with a camera-first identity
Design is one of the first things that makes the X300 FE noticeable. Its horizontal camera bar gives it a look that invites comparison with iPhone Air, even though Vivo is clearly trying to use the design as a gateway to a more serious camera offering.
The phone includes ZEISS camera tuning and support for an external telephoto accessory. That combination gives the X300 FE a stronger long-range shooting angle than many compact flagships in the same price bracket.
Vivo says the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 is designed to improve the quality of distant photos and videos. The accessory is sold separately for Rs 15,999, while the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Accessories Kit costs Rs 3,999.
For buyers who want the package together, Vivo offers a bundle that includes the X300 FE, the Extender, and the Accessories Kit for Rs 95,997, with an MOP of Rs 99,997. Vivo says the extender supports an equivalent 200mm reach.
Display, performance, and battery
The X300 FE uses a 6.31-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,216 x 2,640 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 460 PPI pixel density, and a peak brightness level of up to 5,000 nits.
Under the hood, the phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 built on a 3nm process. Vivo pairs it with 12GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Battery capacity is another major draw. Vivo has fitted the X300 FE with a 6,500mAh battery, backed by 90W FlashCharge support.
ZEISS-tuned cameras and video features
The rear camera setup includes three sensors, all tuned with ZEISS. The main camera is a 50MP Sony IMX921 with an f/1.57 aperture and OIS.
Alongside it sits an 8MP ultra-wide camera using the OmniVision OV08F10 sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. The third rear camera is a 50MP Sony IMX882 telephoto unit with a 1/1.95-inch sensor size, an f/2.65 aperture, and OIS.
On the front, Vivo uses a 50MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The phone also supports video recording up to 8K.
For portraits, the rear cameras support five focal lengths: 23mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 100mm. Together with the telephoto hardware and external extender, that gives the X300 FE more flexibility than many compact premium phones.
Connectivity, durability, and software support
The X300 FE includes dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, NavIC, and AGPS. It also comes with an infrared blaster and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Durability is backed by IP68/69 certification for dust and water resistance. Out of the box, the phone runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6.
Vivo is promising up to five years of OS updates and seven years of security updates. With its premium pricing, ZEISS imaging focus, and large battery, the X300 FE enters a segment where it will face competition from devices such as the iPhone 17, Samsung Galaxy S26, and Pixel 10, along with the OPPO Find X9s, Motorola Signature, OnePlus 15R, and iQOO 15R.
