Hisense’s Vidda C5 Line Targets Gamers and Film Fans, With 240Hz And 1ms Inside

Hisense and Vidda have pushed the C5 series toward a rare overlap in the projector market: a device line built for both home cinema and fast-paced gaming. The flagship promise is straightforward but aggressive, with 240Hz refresh support, 1 ms latency, VRR, and a 2.1-channel audio system meant to make the experience feel more complete.

The new Vidda C5 family has now been introduced in China with four models: C5 Pro Max, C5 Ultra, C5 Ultra Max, and C5 Master. Across the lineup, the company is keeping the same core idea in place while separating the models through brightness, chip design, wireless support, memory, and audio refinement.

A shared core for movies and gaming

Every model in the series includes Hubble movie lenses, 240Hz refresh rate support, VRR, and 1 ms latency. That combination makes the C5 lineup stand out for users who want a large-screen projector that can handle competitive gaming and movie viewing without forcing a compromise.

Hisense and Vidda are also treating sound as a central part of the package. All four models use a 2.1-channel speaker setup made up of two 8W tweeters, two 10W full-range speakers, and one 20W subwoofer.

Where the models start to diverge

The most accessible model in the series is the Vidda C5 Pro Max. It uses a dual-laser QuaLas42 system, delivers 3200 CVIA brightness, and relies on a 0.47-inch DMD chip with a native contrast ratio of 5000:1.

That model also includes Wi-Fi 6, 3GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. It serves as the entry point for the lineup, but it still retains the same gaming-focused and cinema-focused features found across the family.

Up one step: brighter, faster connectivity

The Vidda C5 Ultra moves the formula forward with a new MCL3A laser system. It raises brightness to 4400 CVIA and improves the native contrast ratio to 6000:1.

Connectivity also gets an upgrade here, with Wi-Fi 7 replacing Wi-Fi 6. Memory increases to 4GB of RAM while storage remains at 64GB.

Audio gets a stronger identity in the upper tier

The Vidda C5 Ultra Max introduces a more notable shift in the lineup. It uses a new SST-architecture DMD chip and reaches 4700 CVIA brightness, but the bigger highlight is its Harman JBL-tuned 2.1-channel audio.

That tuning gives the model a clearer premium identity within the C5 family, especially since Hisense and Vidda are clearly trying to show that the upgrade path is not only about brighter visuals. The audio push is one of the most visible ways the company is separating the higher-end variant from the rest of the range.

The flagship sits at the top with the most complete package

The Vidda C5 Master is the most fully equipped model in the series. It combines the MCL3A and QuaLas42 laser systems, reaches up to 5800 CVIA brightness, and adds liquid cooling along with a native contrast ratio of 8000:1.

It also carries 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, making it the most complete option in the C5 family. In practical terms, the flagship concentrates the strongest mix of brightness, thermal design, memory, and display performance.

Pricing in China

The price ladder in China reflects that gradual hardware spread. The Vidda C5 Pro Max starts at 7,999 yuan, while the C5 Ultra is priced at 10,499 yuan.

The C5 Ultra Max is listed at 12,999 yuan, and the C5 Master sits at the top of the range at 14,999 yuan. For now, there is still no confirmation of global availability, and Hisense has not said whether the new projector series will be sold outside China.
