Charlie Hunnam drew attention during a rare public outing in Los Angeles after appearing with a noticeably more polished and mature look. The 46-year-old former Sons of Anarchy star attended a SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations event for his upcoming project Monster: The Ed Gein Story at The Meryl Streep Center for Performing Artists.
With slightly greying hair and a cleaner-cut style, Hunnam looked far removed from the leather-clad biker image that made him a breakout TV star. The change was especially striking for fans who still associate him with Jackson “Jax” Teller, the role that defined his run on the FX drama Sons of Anarchy from 2008 to 2014.

Hunnam built a major part of his public identity around the intense, rebellious energy of Jax Teller. That performance helped turn him into an international heartthrob and kept him closely tied to the show’s rough-edged aesthetic long after the series ended.

Career choices after Sons of Anarchy
After Sons of Anarchy ended, Hunnam moved toward darker films and more dramatic projects rather than chasing the same kind of fame. His credits since then include The Lost City of Z, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Triple Frontier and The Gentlemen.
He has also earned praise for work in independent films and psychological thrillers, often choosing physically demanding roles with complex characters. That pattern fits the new project as well, since his remarks about Ed Gein suggest another performance built on intensity rather than spectacle.
