Samsung’s next foldable lineup appears to be taking shape faster than expected, and the biggest surprise may be how the Galaxy Z Fold family is being restructured. Three devices have now surfaced in Indonesia’s TKDN certification records, signaling that the company is preparing another major push into the local market.
The models listed are SM-F776B, SM-F976B, and SM-F971B. All three have cleared the minimum 35 percent TKDN requirement, with SM-F776B posting 39.03 percent and the other two each recorded at 36.10 percent.
A stronger signal than a simple certification filing
These model numbers had already appeared in earlier online leaks, which is why their appearance in TKDN is drawing close attention. In Samsung’s case, certification filings often point to the final stretch before a product reaches consumers.
Even so, the devices have not yet appeared in the Postel certification database under Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs. That means the regulatory path is moving forward, but the official launch process is not complete.
| Model | TKDN Score |
|---|---|
| SM-F776B | 39.03 percent |
| SM-F976B | 36.10 percent |
| SM-F971B | 36.10 percent |
A new naming strategy for Galaxy Z Fold
Leaks suggest that SM-F776B will become the Galaxy Z Flip 8, while SM-F976B is tied to the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Another version, SM-F971B, is widely believed to be the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
If that naming structure proves accurate, Samsung would be expanding its Fold lineup into two clearly separated models for the first time. The regular Fold path would continue alongside a more premium Ultra variant.
Tipster Ice Universe has also suggested that the device long rumored as Galaxy Z Fold Wide may actually reach the market as the Galaxy Z Fold 8. In that scenario, the model linked to SM-F971B would sit above it as the Ultra version.
Why the Wide model stands out
The rumored Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is said to use a 4:3 aspect ratio when unfolded, making it feel closer to a compact tablet than previous Fold generations. Samsung’s 2019–2025 Fold designs have used a ratio closer to a square shape.
That wider layout could be more practical for reading documents, multitasking, and watching video. Renders and dummy units circulating online also suggest a simpler rear camera setup with only two cameras on the Wide model.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to serve as the top-end option in the series, with a more complete camera arrangement. It is also rumored to carry a 5,000 mAh battery, up from the 4,400 mAh cell in the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Launch timing points to a July reveal
Reports indicate Samsung may unveil the foldable trio at its second Galaxy Unpacked event of the year. The event is said to be scheduled for London, United Kingdom, on July 22, 2026.
Alongside the foldables, Samsung is also expected to introduce the next Galaxy Watch generation and other Galaxy ecosystem products. The devices are believed to run One UI 9 based on Android 17, with improvements centered on multitasking and artificial intelligence.
For now, all of these details remain in the rumor stage, and Samsung has not confirmed the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, or Galaxy Z Flip 8. Still, the TKDN filings add a clear sign that the next wave of Samsung foldables is moving closer to an official debut in Indonesia.
