OnePlus appears to be preparing a new phone that could stand out in the sub-$250 segment for one simple reason: battery life. The upcoming OnePlus N6 is confirmed to carry an 8,000mAh battery, a figure that places it ahead of even some of the company’s more expensive models.
That capacity is especially notable because OnePlus has described it as the “segment’s biggest battery.” In practical terms, the N6 is being positioned as a device where endurance may matter more than headline-grabbing premium features.
A battery bigger than OnePlus 15
The comparison becomes more interesting when the N6 is measured against OnePlus 15. The N6’s 8,000mAh cell is larger than the 7,300mAh battery found in that flagship model.
For buyers watching battery size closely, this sets up an unusual situation. A more affordable phone from the brand may end up offering a larger battery than a top-tier device.
What Geekbench suggests about performance
Beyond the battery, the rest of the hardware has not been officially detailed yet. However, a OnePlus device with the model number CPH2955 has surfaced on Geekbench and is widely believed to be the N6.
The listing points to a MediaTek MT6835 chipset paired with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. That combination suggests the phone could use a chip from MediaTek’s Dimensity 6000 series.
Geekbench also shows 6GB of RAM and Android 16 on the device. In CPU testing, it recorded 788 in single-core and 1,993 in multi-core performance.
Where the N6 may fit in the market
OnePlus is expected to launch the N6 in India on 30 June 2026, with a projected price range of INR 15,000 to INR 20,000, or about $159 to $212. If that estimate proves accurate, the phone will enter a highly competitive price band.
In this segment, battery endurance and efficient chipset choices often carry more weight than luxury extras. That makes the combination of an 8,000mAh battery, 6GB of RAM, and a possible Dimensity-class chip especially relevant.
OnePlus has not confirmed additional specifications yet, but the early details already show how the N6 is being shaped. It looks set to target buyers who want long battery life first, with performance that appears tuned for the midrange rather than the flagship tier.
