Rockstar Prepares a Rare GTA Online Finale, Los Santos Faces an Unusual New Target

Rockstar Games is preparing a major new heist for GTA Online that could mark one of the game’s last large-scale content drops before Grand Theft Auto VI arrives. The Kortz Center Heist is scheduled for release on 14 July 2026 and puts one of Los Santos’ best-known landmarks at the center of a high-stakes operation.

Instead of another familiar robbery target, the update sends players to the Kortz Center in Pacific Bluffs, where a major art collection becomes the focus of the mission. The setting gives the heist a different flavor from the usual money-driven jobs and turns a recognizable location into a new objective for long-time players.

A multi-stage operation built around planning

Rockstar describes The Kortz Center Heist as a multi-stage operation that requires infiltration, preparation, and an exit strategy. Its structure follows the model of major previous heists such as the Diamond Casino Heist and Cayo Perico Heist.

Access is not immediate. Players must first buy a Mansion property and install the new Art Studio extension, which also works as a base for art forgery operations.

From there, the mission opens up into a more flexible format. Players can scout the target area, choose from different approaches, and complete the heist solo or with up to four players in cooperative play.

Rewards and discounts arrive before launch

Before the update goes live, Rockstar is running the Fine Art Collector event in GTA Online. The program includes GTA$ bonuses and major property discounts, along with limited-time incentives tied to specific purchases.

GTA+ subscribers receive a $2,000,000 discount on Mansion purchases. Shark Card buyers can also take advantage of a 40% bonus, though the offer is limited.

Free upgrades for older GTA V players

Rockstar has also confirmed free platform upgrades for older versions of GTA V. Players with PS4 copies or the digital Xbox One version can move to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S editions at no extra cost.

PC players on the Legacy version are also included, with a free upgrade path to GTA V Enhanced. That version adds ray-traced ambient occlusion and global illumination, bringing visual improvements to the PC release.

What the timing suggests

The release window places The Kortz Center Heist close to the arrival of Grand Theft Auto VI, reinforcing the view that Rockstar is winding down a major chapter of GTA Online. That timing makes the update feel less like a routine addition and more like a transitional event for the Los Santos era.

Rockstar is also extending GTA+ benefits ahead of the shift. Subscribers will gain access to the GTA V story mode through the GTA+ Games Library, adding another perk as the studio reshapes its ecosystem around the next phase of the franchise.
