Moto Buds 2 and 2 Plus Arrive in Indonesia, Bose Audio Meets a Rp499,000 Surprise

Motorola has widened its audio lineup in Indonesia with two new true wireless stereo models that target very different buyers. The Moto Buds 2 Plus is the attention-grabber for its premium feature set, while the Moto Buds 2 stands out for its aggressive price.

That contrast is what makes the launch notable. One model brings Sound by Bose, dynamic active noise cancellation, spatial audio, and six microphones, while the other focuses on a compact design, longer battery life, and a price of Rp499,000.

Premium features lead the Moto Buds 2 Plus

The Moto Buds 2 Plus is positioned as Motorola’s higher-tier option, and its main selling point is the Sound by Bose collaboration. The earbud also includes dynamic active noise cancellation, spatial audio, and six microphones for a more complete audio package.

Motorola’s Product Portfolio Head for Indonesia, Zulfahmi, said the device is intended to deliver Bose audio quality at a relatively accessible price. The company is clearly using the model to signal a more ambitious push into audio accessories.

The spatial audio feature is designed to create a wider sound impression, especially when watching movies. The six-microphone setup is meant to improve voice pickup and adapt audio output to surrounding conditions.

Durability is also part of the package. The Moto Buds 2 Plus carries an IP54 rating, giving it protection against limited dust exposure and splashes of water for everyday use and light exercise.

Moto Buds 2 focuses on battery life and value

The Moto Buds 2 takes a different route by keeping the design smaller, lighter, and easier to carry. Motorola is aiming this model at users who want a simpler earbud without paying a premium for extra features.

Its audio setup uses an 11 mm main driver and a 5 mm secondary driver. Motorola has not detailed the audio codec or ANC support for this model, but the company says the charging case extends total battery life to up to 48 hours.

That long battery claim is one of the strongest reasons the Moto Buds 2 could appeal to everyday users. The model also carries an IPX4 rating, which means it is resistant to splashes from different directions.

Motorola will offer the Moto Buds 2 in three colors, including Carbon and Violet Ice. The compact model is the one designed to compete on practicality and price rather than premium audio extras.

Price is the clearest dividing line

The pricing gap between the two models is striking. The Moto Buds 2 Plus costs Rp1.999.000, while the Moto Buds 2 is set at Rp499.000.

That difference shows how Motorola is trying to serve two ends of the market at once. One model is meant to carry the brand’s premium audio message, while the other is built to reach buyers who want a cheaper entry point into Motorola’s audio ecosystem.

Zulfahmi also said the company is still considering other accessories in the future. Protective cases, chargers, and additional ecosystem products are among the options being explored.

With these two TWS models, Motorola is making it clear that its focus in Indonesia is no longer limited to smartphones. The company is beginning to shape a broader device ecosystem, and audio accessories are now part of that strategy.
